The attached cable is made of durable, break-resistant Kevlar for rigorous use without shorts or wear.
The EMW is credited with providing pristine audio with minimal handling and rubbing noise, due to its omnidirectional polar pattern.
This square, moisture-resistant capsule is ideal for use in humid conditions, on skin, outdoors, etc.
Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. What are the recommended tripods that will work with this Video Head?
A: Recommended tripod legs for the Manfrotto MVH500AH Fluid Video Head with Flat Base should be able to handle 17.6 lb or less.
Q: 2. Will my 501 pl plate fit?
A: Yes, A 501 plate would make a great combo to this video head.
Q: 3. How much is the total weight, tripod with head?
A: The Manfrotto kit comes with two parts. The Manfrotto 500 head weight is 2 pounds. And the legs are 4.3 lb. The total weight of both head and legs would be 6.3 pounds.
Q: 4. will the baseplate of a crane 2s fit?
A: Yes the Crane 2s uses a Manfrotto compatible plate.
Q: 5. Will the tripod legs extend out horizontally? Looking to get the base all the way down to the ground for low angle shots.
A: I can get the legs out so they sit almost completely flat on the ground--perhaps 1 or 2 degrees above 90 degrees, with the center column then bringing the top of the head plate to 16.5 above the ground.
Q: 6. Is the MVH500AH compatible with the 357PLV plate?
A: No it is not. The Manfrotto MVH500AH requires the 500PLong plate. There are Compatibility Charts available that may be helpful to you if you do a search. Links are not allowed here or I would add one. The 500PLong plates are relatively inexpensive. I purchased an additional one which stays attached to my 70mm-200mm f/2.8. I use Arc Swiss Compatible plates on the other one for the camera body when used with all other lenses that do not have tripod mounts.
Q: 7. will this fluid head work on extremely cold weather like -10 or lower? have anybody tried?
A: The operating temperature is -4 to 140°F. At -10 it will be too cold to use this head.
Q: 8. Is the pan handle and the base plate that your camera can screw into included?
A: Yes, it comes with everything pictured
Q: 9. I have arca swiss compatible plates for my cameras. Will these work on this fluid head?
A: The adapter is a plate that fits into the pan head and is much wider than the Arca Swiss heads. To make it work, you either have to screw the plate into the hole on the Arca Swiss L-bracket or permanently mount an Arca-swiss type clamp to the Manfrotto adapter plate with screws. (I prefer the former.) Having said that, I mount the the panhead on my RRS tripod with a dovetail plate screwed into the bottom of the panhead and use a RRS clamp on top of the tripod.
Q: 10. I'm trying to decide between this head, and the Manfrotto 502HD Pro Video Head for use with a DSLR and a variety of lenses. The heaviest lens I have is around 5 lbs., so with the DSLR, it would still be under the 11 pound capacity. Any input? Thanks.
A: In a video head, look for smoothness, weight capacity, dual locks, adjustable drag and counter balance. This one has all but the last two which are not adjustable. For the price, this is a fine head for most consumer video situations. The next step up would be an example like the Benro S7 Video Head B&H # BEVHS7. It has a bigger capacity, 15 lbs, and adjustable tilt drag and counterbalance.
