Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you use the accessory that lets you take pictures with your phone through the eye piece? I bought one intending to buy a cheaper scope but really like this telescope better.

A: You can use Celestron's Basic Smartphone Adapter to hold your smartphone directly up to your telescope's eyepiece to frame your subjects.

Q: 2. Would this be a good choice for viewing planets, I.e. Jupiter, Saturn, etc?

A: Planets appear small and are very bright in the eVscope. Because they are so bright, they can only be observed in "Live View" mode. The same is true for the moon, but it just about fits into the eVscope's field of view (its height does not quite fit). Can I see planets with a telescope? Image result for Can eVscope see planets? With just a small or medium-sized telescope, skygazers can easily observe planets. You'll be surprised how much of our solar system you can see! And you don't need a dark sky to view all of our solar system's planets; even under city lights, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn can be easy to see with a telescope.

Q: 3. How tall is the scope's eye piece when mounted to the tripod?

A: Approximately 50 -54 depending on how you mount it and the angle it is pointed.

Q: 4. Telescope blew over in wind, mount no longer works. What mount/tripod will fit this telescope?

A: Sky-Watcher AZ-GTe GoTo AZ Mount BH #SKAZGTE • MFR #S21140

Q: 5. Can an Olympus Tough TG-5 be adapted to the telescope?

A: Yes it can with the Konus Universal Digiscoping Adapter for Point-and-Shoot Cameras and Smartphones BH #KOUNVRSLADPT • MFR #1301 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1221463-REG/konus_1301_universal_digiscoping_adapter.html

Q: 6. can this telescope be used for viewing planets within our solar system, such as Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars?

A: Yes, you should be able to see those planets with the Unistellar eVscope eQuinox 114mm f/4 GoTo Reflector Telescope BH #UNEVSEQ • MFR #EVSCOPE EQUINOX Please check out the YouTube videos on the product.

Q: 7. Can I attached my mirrorless camera to this telescope with an adapter? And if so, what adapter do you recommend?

A: The Unistellar eVscope 2 114mm f/4 GoTo Reflector Telescope has a camera built in and there is no other way to attach another camera externally.

Q: 8. What all can you see using the 114 LCM ?

A: I am a poor person to ask. The telescope is, I am sure, a fine piece of equipment. The problem is not in the stars, but in me. I had hoped that this telescope would open my granddaughter to wonderment about the stars and planets. My first attempt was in the summer. I set the telescope up under a patio umbrella draped over with mosquito netting. I could not get the three points in the sky needed to fix the computerized instrument. I managed to undrape the netting and get tangled in a web of confusion. Granddaughter gets bitten by mosquito, but not bitten by the bug of exploration. I tried again in late Fall. Too late. We had to retreat for hot chocolate inside. Mistakes were made as our politicians are wont to say. Don't mess with something you know nothing about! as my college roommate would say. Be sure you have someone who can instruct you on how to use this tool.

Q: 9. ?can you connect a laptop to this telescope

A: No, and the calibration for the auto track is very sensitive, mostly useless. it is however a very nice motorized scope. I suggest some 30+mm lenses to go with it, and filters.

Q: 10. Does Celestron have an adapter that allows use of a Sony a7r?

A: No, please contact B&H Photo for a suitable adapter for your Sony a7r.
