Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will you ship this product to Finland? If, any additional costs beoynd shipping costs?

A: Nikon USA has restricted B&H from shipping their digital cameras, lenses, and flashes outside of the USA. So unfortunately, we would not be able to ship the Nikon AF-S 80-400mm lens to Finland.

Q: 2. Hi, camera is a D-810 with the VR 80-400mm f4.5-f5.6 D ED AF and can I use the TC 17 E II teleconverter?

A: The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR Lens and the Nikon AF-S Teleconverter TC-17E II may be used with one another. However, do note that autofocus will not be possible when using this combination. When you use the 1.7x teleconverter on the 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR Lens, it will become the approximate equivalent of a 136-680mm f/7.3-9.5 lens. According to the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR Lens' instruction manual, the lens will not autofocus with this combination, even on cameras that support f/8 autofocus such as the Nikon D810 DSLR camera. As such, you would have to focus the lens manually.

Q: 3. Is this lens compatible with Nikon D7000?

A: Yes. It's FX format lens so it will work with any Nikon body FX or DX. Because of crop factor, on your D7000, it will be the equivalent of a 160-600. I's a great lens.

Q: 4. Does the accuracy of the focus at the long end (400mm) deteriorate over time? I'd be interested in hearing from someone who has owned the lens for at least a couple of years with heavy use.

A: After several years, there is no change in sharpness throughout the zoom range.

Q: 5. Will this lens auto focus with D7000 using the TC14 E II teleconverter, D3S and D4S using the TC14E II and TC17E II?

A: When you put the TC-14E on the 80-400mm, on its long end, the maximum aperture loses one stop, i.e. it drops from f5.6 to f8. Technically, the D7000 and D3S can only auto focus with f5.6 or faster lenses so that they are not supposed to AF with a TC-14E on. In reality, when it is bright, AF will still work to some degree but not reliable. On the other hand, the D4S has some AF points that can work with f8 lenses so that such combination will AF. With a 1.7x TC, you lose 1.5 stops and you are pretty much out of luck.Of course, on the 80mm end, this zoom is faster, but there really is no point to use a TC on the 80mm end.

Q: 6. Will this lens produce higher quality images (sharper, clearer, and so on) than the Nikon 55-300 at the same settings?

A: Yes it will. The Nikon 80-400mm f4.5-5.6 AF-S VR Lens is a professional quality lens and will render much sharper images with better contrast and color rendition while focusing faster than your Nikon 55-300mm VR lens.

Q: 7. Would the 20063 70-200mm with a teleconverter be a suitable option to this lens?

A: Yes you can use the Nikon TC14E III with this lens for the best results and the least amount of light loss. https://bhpho.to/2SYcKLh

Q: 8. Will this lens fully function with a Z 6ii camera? Also, with a TC on the 6ii?

A: Yes. This lens is fully compatible with the Nikon Z Series cameras when using the FTZ adapter. F-Mount Teleconverters can be used with this as well.

Q: 9. Where is this lens manufactured?

A: This lens is made in Japan.

Q: 10. is this lens compatible with a Nikon D700 camera?

A: Yes
