Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How long is the cord on the supplied remote?

A: Its short, only about 5'. But a 10' extension is available

Q: 2. Do you need the remote to control the tilt?

A: Yes, you must use the remote in the Bescor MP-101 Motorized Pan & Tilt Head with Power Supply and 100' Extension Kit to control the tilt of the motorized head.

Q: 3. What is the distance between mounting points if one uses two light stands or two c-stands for holding up the two ends of the slider?

A: The exact distance is not listed, however the physical length of this product is 46 inches long and as you can see by this photo the mounting points are almost right at the edges. There is probably around 42-44 inches between the points. https://bit.ly/34hzt8b

Q: 4. Is there a way to set up the pan option to rotate the camera precisely 5 degrees? I would like to take a series of images at every 5 degrees.

A: No it can not. You may want to consider something like the Syrp Genie Mini II Panning Motion Control System (BH #SY330001 • MFR #SY0033-0001) If you need it for both panning and tilting consider the Syrp Genie Mini II Pan and Tilt Kit (BH #SY330001PTK (B&H Kit))

Q: 5. Is there an extension cable for the remote? I need to control this head from a distance of about 50ft. Is there a cable or cables I can use to extend the range of the remote controller?

A: Yes. BERE50 is the B & H number. I bought 2 20 ft extensions (BERE20). It pretty much matches the wifi distance on my Olympus Camera. Works well.

Q: 6. Is it posible to set up with wireless remote?

A: There is no wireless option for this product.

Q: 7. Is there a programmable API for this product?

A: Hi, I made one by replacing the remote controller with an IO-Device (Eth32). Combined with an QT based lib for connection to ATEM switch from Black Magic Design, I use a joystick to control the camera in Program/Preview View.

Q: 8. Is it possible to manually tilt as it tracks? Or does it tilt automatically

A: As I see it, the design is strong enough to pan/tilt/dolly manually. However, the motorized dolly is accomplished with a belt and I suspect imparting any manual force probably will cause unwanted jiggle.

Q: 9. I am thinking of using the on my tripod and tilting it about 10-20 degrees for astrophotography. Can this product be able to work at these angles with a Canon 70D, 1.66 lb / 755 g with battery and memory card and a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM Lens 1.05 lb (475 g). And will it jerk or run smooth at this angle?..

A: mp 350 are not design for astrophotography,

Q: 10. Will this work with ProAm USA Orion DVC210 8' DSLR Camera Crane / Jib?

A: Yes, The Bescor MP-1E Motorized Pan Head is a universal solution and could work with many jib models. The head supports payloads up to 6 lb. The two mounting points are the 1/4"-20 female threads underneath and the 1/4"-20 camera mounting screw with registration pin on top. All tripods and cameras are compatible.
