Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How does this flash compare to Canon's Macro Ring Lite MR-14EX II? Is there a substantial difference other than cost :) ?

A: Simply put, you get what you pay for. However...this is an exceptional flash for the money. I am very satisfied with the build quality and functionality. You wont be disappointed.

Q: 2. Can this unit be controlled with the PTZ Optics Serial PTZ Joystick (RS-232, RS-485, RS-422, VISCA or PELCO protocols)?

A: No, the Bescor MP-1AC is a independent Motorized Pan & Tilt Head.

Q: 3. Has anyone experienced this light making any noise? I bought a cheapo ring light once (listed as Polaroid but of course made in China) and the loud, constant whine it produced made it unusable. I sent it back. Wouldn't like to go through that again.

A: Makes no noise except a beep when it returns to full charge and ready for the next shot, Tom. Works well.Dave

Q: 4. does it work for non macro lens ?

A: Yes. However, it only comes with adapters for the 52, 58, 67 and 72 mm lenses, so it cannot be used on some of the most popular 82 mm lenses such as the my Canon EF 24-70 mm F2.8 L lens. Why it doesn't come with it, I have no idea, but it is quite frustrating, as I think it makes a very good on camera fill flash for non-macro work, as long as you are reasonably close to the subject (play with it-you will find the sweet spots ). I used it for an outside childrens' shoot at dusk, on a T6S with EFS 18-135 67 mm lens, and it was fine. Had to use this camera, as there were no adapters that would fit the lenses I had on the 5D Mk IV.

Q: 5. How long can the modeling light remain continuously illuminated for?

A: The modeling lamp can stay on until you turn it off.

Q: 6. Is there an adapter ring available for a lens that is 49 mm in diameter?

A: I don't know. It didn't come with one. You will need to check with the manufacturer.

Q: 7. Can this be hard mounted to a wooden surface? Also, is there a way to be able to use a joystick type remote and if so, suggestions?

A: Yes, this can be mounted on a wooden surface but proper screws will need to be used. There are no joystick options available for this device.

Q: 8. Is it possible to use it with 77mm diameter Lens?

A: To use the Yongnuo YN-14EX-C Macro Ring Lite for Canon Cameras on a lens with 77mm threads, use the included 72mm adapter ring with the Sensei 77-72mm Step-Down Ring. If the lens is wide-angle, you might get vignetting. Here is the link: https://bhpho.to/3F82d79.

Q: 9. Does this work with the Canon G series point and shoot cameras that have the eTTL hot shoe? I have heard that the Sigma Canon dedicated ringlite only works with DSLRs. We currently use the Canon MR-14EX with the Canon G16 with great results.

A: I would ask B&H sales...I think it will work with any camera but that is just a guess. It is a nice quality item for the price though.

Q: 10. will this work with canon T7?

A: No, the Yongnuo YN-14EX-C Macro Ring Lite for Canon Cameras does not work on the T7.
