The MX225 from ART is a high-quality zone mixer with two stereo inputs and five stereo outputs. The two balanced XLR stereo inputs each get routed to all five zones. Every zone has balanced XLR stereo outputs. There are source 1 and 2 volume knobs on each of the 5 zones, with an LED audio level meter, and a button that sums the stereo signal to mono.

For an example of how the MX225 can be used, imagine you own a medium sized restaurant. You have an entrance area, a main dining room, a bar area, a kitchen, and an office. You want the same music playing in the entrance area and the dining room, but at different volumes (softer in the dining room, louder near the busy entrance). In the bar area you want a different style of music playing at a louder volume. The cooks in the kitchen like variety, so sometimes they want to hear the mellow dinning room music, and other times they like the more rocking bar music.

With the MX225 hooked into your sound system in the office area, you can control who hears what, and at what volume they are hearing it. If a customer asks you to turn down the music, you can easily turn down the music in their zone only. You plug the two different audio sources into the MX225, and connect the outputs to the amplifiers or powered speakers that are set up in the separate parts of the restaurant. The operation of the MX224 couldn't be easier. You simply turn up or turn down the volumes of source 1 & 2 in each zone.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Anyone using this with fs5 or fs7? How’s it look?

A: This lens should look outstanding on either the FS5 or FS7.

Q: 2. What ND Filter can be used on this lens? I would be using it on a Sony A7S II.

A: I don't believe you can use an ND filter on this lens, but I don't know for sure.

Q: 3. all reviews are based on Canon EF despite i selected E-mount. Is there a way to see any e-mount based reviews?

A: Under the review tab on the left there is a search box. If you enter Canon into that box it will narrow the reviews for you.

Q: 4. does this lens have image stabilization?

A: No, but it isn't necessary in any application that i've used this lens. I use it mostly for low light documentary style photography of big events and weddings. Its sharper than the canon, and solid as a rock. Highly recommended.

Q: 5. Is it compatible with a Canon 50mm f/1.4 USM lens?

A: Unfortunately, this hood would not be compatible with a Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM lens. A compatible hood would be the Vello ES-71II Dedicated Lens Hood B&H # VELHCES71II. Please see the image below for reference.

Q: 6. Does the autofocus works well in video mode?

A: It works really good beyond 2 ft. Within 2 ft and the minimum focusing distance it can struggle a little. Thats what Ive observed with the A7iii.

Q: 7. Does it have linear acceleration response MF?

A: Yes, Sigma 20mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Lens for Sony E has the same linear accelatation when the lens is set to manual focus.

Q: 8. Is there any problem with the IBIS when adapted on R6/R5?

A: There haven't been any issues reported when using this lens on the Canon EOS R5/R6 with the in-body stabilization turned on.

A: Yes, the lens is fully compatible with the Nikon D5100 camera including autofocus.
