Rosco Fluorescent Lighting Sleeves/Tube Guards are a very reliable and cost-effective system for easy control of tough lighting scenarios- especially under fluorescents. In addition to the financial benefits of the sleeves, they protect against the potential disaster of glass shattering by containing the lamp within the end caps.

Rosco sleeves are constructed of a solid polycarbonate tube within which is held the specific filter. The choice of filters and combination of filters is endless - there are complete Roscolux, Cinegel or E-Colour color filter lines - something for every venue, every photographer, every cinematographer.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. It will work on my D5300 with 50mm 1.8???

A: No. These extension tubes are not compatible with Nikon D5000 series cameras

Q: 2. Can you share the diameters for each leg sections please?

A: Here are the leg section diameters on the Really Right Stuff Ascend-14 Long Travel Carbon Fiber Tripod with Integrated Ball Head: Top Tube Diameter - 28.5 mm Second Tube Diameter - 24.5 mm Third Tube Diameter - 20.5 mm Fourth Tube Diameter - 16.4 mm

Q: 3. I have a Nikon D7000, and am hoping to use these tubes with a prime 35mm 1:1.8G lens. Will I be able to get close enough to shoot snowflakes? I believe (without checking) that the minimum focus distance with that lens is somewhere around 11.5 inches. (I am new to macro shooting so please excuse my lack of knowledge.) Thanks :-)

A: I also have a Nikon D7000, and the Vello extension tubes, but not your particular lens. This is what I find:Nikon 17-35 f/2.8 at 35 mm + 20 mm tube = 1.625 wide field, 1.5 distance from lens.Nikon 17-35 f/2.8 at 35 mm + 36 mm tube = 0.875 wide field, 0.25 distance from lens.Nikon 50 f/1.8G + 36 mm tube = 1.125 wide field, 2 distance from lensThe 36 mm tube will give the greatest reproduction ratio, as can be seen above, but you will be right on top of your subject. I have shot bugs with the above 50mm 1.8G + 20 mm tube to good effect, but your depth of field is quite small and can benefit from focus stack sets and related software. If you are wanting to shoot snowflakes, you might be able to avoid the shortcomings for small depth of field since snowflakes have minimal depth anyway. The very short lens/subject distance will make frontal lighting almost impossible, but if the flakes were on a glass sheet, you could light them from the back. Or, invest in a ring flash.Anyway, have fun.Chris

Q: 4. D5300 Camera with 18-140 'kit' lens- Will the VR and AF function the same with these?

A: Yes, VR and AF will work, VR works inside the lenses, no relation with the tubes, and AF will work because of the electrical contacts between the lens and camera (but if you're doing macro shots you should use manual focus)

Q: 5. will these extension tubes work with the full-frame Nikon D600 for full frame effect

A: Yes, the Vello Auto Extension Tubes for Nikon are compatible with the Nikon D600.

Q: 6. It s a stupid question, but have to ask. Do these extensions make automatic a manual lens when used together?

A: These extension tubes when used together would not take away the use of autofocus on your lens.

Q: 7. Are there threaded sockets at the top between legs to attach accessories like QD socket? Similar to TFC-14

A: The Really Right Stuff Ascend-14 Long Travel Carbon Fiber Tripod with Integrated Ball Head does not have a QD socket, but it does have a 1/4"-20 female threaded socket for accessories.

Q: 8. What is the weight of just the scope?

A: The weight of the OTA is about 4 lbs.

Q: 9. Do these work with Fuji 50mm f2?

A: These extension tubes fit a Fujifilm 50mm f/2.

Q: 10. Should I get the one with the integrated ball head or the other one and get the BH-40? Some reviews say the ball-head is a compromise from other RRS ball heads

A: Depends on your desired use. If you want the tripod to be as light as possible, then get the integrated head. If you have particular taste or a favorite head like the BH-40, this would work very well with it. The BH-40 would introduce about an extra pound of weight, but the head would be more secure for large more telephoto lenses. Either way it works really well with the integrated head or the BH-40. I use the Ascend 14 with an Arca head and enjoy it. It's all a preference.
