Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will it hold a Panasonic P2 370 video camera?

A: I got some rough camera dimensions off the internet, and if i got the right camera then this bag can easily carry 2 of those cameras and a bunch of other equipment. I'm 5foot 9 inches and I can almost fit myself in there!

Q: 2. Can I take this on a plane as a carry on?

A: No way. This case is HUGE. I actually returned it for that reason. Got a smaller Sachtler case instead.

Q: 3. Any idea why this takes so long to receive? It's been almost a month.

A: I apologize, but this type of request cannot be taken care of through this feature of our website. Please contact our Customer Service department by entering Live Chat, emailing directly to cs@a href= http://bhphoto.com, target= _blank bhphoto.com,/a or calling us toll-free at 800.221.5743.

Q: 4. whats the outside size?

A: 26 L x 15 W x 16 H

Q: 5. Hi There, My rig consist of a Sony Shoulder Mount, Fujinon MK 50-135mm lens and the Sony XDCA-FS7 Extension Unit. You think the bag is long enough to handle my rig? Thanks

A: Yep, i have the same setup with the 18-55mm Fujinon and a Mattebox/rails combo and it just fits.

Q: 6. Porta Brace has put out a few different types of bags for the FS7. Im not sure what the difference is between the Porta Brace RIG-FS7 Top Opening Rigid Case for Sony FS7 and the Porta Brace RIG-FS7XT Carrying Case with Kit for Sony FS7.Do both of these bags have wheels on the bottom? Are they both small enough to be carry-ons on a plane?

A: The RIG-FS7XT is a wider bag that allows the FS7 to be carried with grip and viewfinder attached albeit compressed. This allows you to pull the camera out of the bag and be shooting in moments. However, this comes at the cost of carry-on size. Since the bag's exterior dimensions's of 21.3 x 15.0 x 16.0 (54.0 x 38.1 x 40.6) cm are greater than the carry-on size of 9 inches x 14 inches x 22 inches (22 cm x 35 cm x 56 cm), or the combined length, width and height, (including any handles and wheels) exceeds 45 linear inches (or 114 cm), it cannot be taken by you onto the aircraft. The RIG-FS7, on the other hand, is 21.5 x 10.0 x 12.0 (54.6 x 25.4 x 30.5 cm) and easily fits carry-on requirements. However, this means the case is much narrower and you must remove the right hand grip and the viewfinder before putting the camera in it.

Q: 7. I saw this bag on the Porta Brace site, but there are no internal pictures. How does the FS7 fit inside? Can the handle, extension arm, and EVF still be attached. We bought Manfrotto backpacks for our FS7 and the bags aren't deep enough. The camera doesn't fit.

A: I was unable to come up with images as well. However, this is what PortaBrace has to say about the RIG-FS7BKX: (It is) designed to protect and transport a fully assembled FS7 rig in Shoot Ready position. They go on to say, Interior dividers allow you to customize the central compartment to suit your gear needs. Interior: 25 x 16.5 x 10.5 / 63.50 x 41.91 x 26.67 cm.Additional information: http://bit.ly/1c86aYJ

Q: 8. Is this case tall enough to store the FS7 with a Zacuto or Sony baseplate attached to it?

A: Yes it is. I have the full shape rig on mine and it fits easily. It is a big bag with lots of room.

Q: 9. Does it fit in an overhead compartment of a plane? Anyone any experience?

A: Standard carry-on luggage size tends to be 22 x 14 x 9 inches. This case has exterior dimensions 32.75 x 17.00 x 13.00 inches, it is too large for carry-on.

Q: 10. I have a shoot scheduled for the Fall in Alaska (Rainy weather). Will this raincover keep my FS7 dry through regular shoulder mounted use?

A: We shoot handheld in a lot of rainy weather and it works well. Porta Brace works better than the other rain covers available. It's not 100 percent rain tight but it will work better than anything you can find. Alaska is really wet. It should provide the best protection.
