A: The reason the information is conflicting is because the adapter works with well with only certain lenses. It either works really well or doesn't work at all depending on the lens you're using. For example I did a number of tests with an A7III using several A-mount lenses. Test 1 - A7III with 70-300mm G SSM II It works as intended. You have access to AF-S / AF-C. It accurately focuses and gives no issues. Test 2- A7III with 135mm F/1.8 ZA Sonnar and 85mm F/1.4 ZA Doesn't work. Manual focus only. Test 3 - A7III with 16-35mm 2.8 ZA SSM II Doesn't work again. Test 4 - A7III with 24-70mm 2.8 ZA // 70-200mm // 70-400 It works as intended. You have access to AF-S / AF-C. It accurately focuses and gives no issues. So as you can see here, it works with particular lenses. On Sony's website it shows every lens as "limited functionality". I cannot pinpoint what works and what doesn't. It's inconsistent. So if you have a 24-70mm // 70-200mm // 70-400 or 70-300 G it works the way it should, but if you have other lenses it's a hit or miss.
