Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the lens on camera constantly hunting for focusing when power up like NEX 6? If so, does it provide a option to turn it off by not setting it to manual focus? Thank you!

A: Go to menu, gear icon third page the first option is Pre-AF is usually on by default, this causes the camera to prefocus (and hunt) as long as is on! Turn it off and try n see if it helps you out.

Q: 2. How effective is the (hybrid) focus-stacking feature and how easy is it to implement?

A: Focus Stacking is easy and effective when using the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ2500 Digital Camera. You would find this selection on the drive dial on top of the camera. Once you select this option you can take your photos or navigate the menu provided on the LCD.

Q: 3. Anyone pair the A6000 with the GH4? How does the footage line up?

A: For still photography with a good quality prime or zoom lens, like the Zeiss sonar E types, I would say the a6000 with its super fast auto focus may be a bit better than the Gh4 in some situations and equal in most.(yes I have both) .. For video? The Gh4 wins hands down

Q: 4. Where is the viewfinder? It's not clear from the 360 view.

A: On the left corner of the camera the viewfinder pops up

Q: 5. Does it have a silent shooting mode? How good is it?

A: No but unlike the A7r (whi ch is noisier), the shutter isn't loud. Also keep in mind that the mirrorless cameras, unlike the DSLRs,do not have the sound of the mirror going up and down AND the shutter opening and closing.

Q: 6. Will a Sony FE 28-70 work on this camera? If so, what will be the true MM range?

A: Yes, with 1,5x multiplier. 28 becomes 42 and 70 becomes 105. On full frame range is 28 to 70. I like my Sony Zeiss 16 to 70 f4 on A6000 - 24 to 105 effective range. Great all purpose lens.

Q: 7. can I attach my Nikon extender lens like on the FZ 300?

A: This model does not have an interchangeable lens. -M

Q: 8. Is there a charger?

A: There isn't a standard charger. There is a cord that plugs in and has a USB end. You'll plug it directly into the camera and then into the wall to charge.

Q: 9. Is the FZ2500 mirrorless?

A: No it is DSLHope this is helpful; I love it!

Q: 10. I'm a science writer and I shoot mostly natural history. Many of my images have been published--so image quality is extremely important to me. Shifting away from my heavier Nikon DSLR systems, I'd like to make an informed choice between a Panasonic Lumix FZ1000 and a Lumix DMC-FZ2500. Advice?

A: I too was a Nikon Shooter with both full and cropped framed sensors. As a pro, I was concerned about image quality as well. I got a FZ1000 and was blown away by the image quality and the other features that now I cannot live without. I damaged the screen one during a shoot (I wish the camera was weatherproof) and bought a second FZ1000. Clients are now asking for video in addition to stills, so I just purchased the FZ2500. I used it over the weekend and was very impressed. I now only use my Nikon gear for shoots that require specialty lenses (fish eye or really wide angle). I don't miss the weight of the Nikon, and having one lens that will do 90% of what I need is great.
