- Product Code: ga2446

Very cleverly conceived by Pro Co Sound's director of engineering, Gerry Carpenter, the StageMaster Series SMA2404FBQ-10 Snake is logically thought out and designed for fixed installations and light road and stage use. The rugged and reliable design features the latest in connector technology and a cable that is extremely flexible for easy coiling.
The StageMaster stagebox is built from a thick 16 gauge connector plate with a blank template overlay that allows channel ID numbers to be written on it. The stagebox features Pro Co Duralink cable, and the fanout cable spread is 3-4' long to allow for the individual connectors to link to multiple audio components.

Q: 1. How effective is this on a vocal condenser mic? I want to put this mute switch in line between the mic and an affects processor which will supply phantom power.
A: It works quite well. I use a Shure SM35 headset mic when playing my electric upright and use this to kill my mic when I'm not singing. It works great with external phantom power. It does suck batteries, though, if you have it off a good bit. I go through a 9v Duracell Quantum battery every 1.5 gigs. However, when the power dies, it defaults to the mic being on, so you don't lose your mic in mid-set if the battery dies. If you're using a powered pedalboard or can run from the wall wart, you'll be fine. Switching is quiet, so you don't even notice when you turn the mic on and off. Overall, it's a great pedal and I use it every week.
Q: 2. Will this item work with the red epic camera?
A: This product is meant for cameras that have 1/4 TRS inputs for audio. The 3.5mm stereo cable is for a headphone return only. This would not work with the Red Epic, however we do have the A-Box from Wooden Camera that will work with the Red Epic.
Q: 3. It seems that this device Input is XLR, does it means that it is a mono input only? no stereo input?
A: This device is mono input only.
Q: 4. What is the diameter of the cable?
A: 10mm
Q: 5. Will the work as an extender for a dsnake on a allen and heath?
A: Yes, the Pro Co Sound ProCat 5 10/100 Base-T Cat 5 Ethernet Cable EtherCon (40') B&H # PRPC5EE40 would work as an extender with a Dsnake for Allen and Heath.
Q: 6. The description says the snake has XLR returns, but the photo shows TRS returns. If I order this, which version will I get? Thanks!
A: thank you for your question. The photo in the listing is a representation of the chassis for the snake. If you purchase this item, the snake you will receive will have XLR returns.
Q: 7. Is this cable shielded through the shell of the ethercon?
A: Apologies but that information is not provided/published by the manufacturer. That noted, any proper termination of a cable to RJ-45 plug includes the shielding as not doing so would risk damaging the fragile-like nature of the contained copper conductor(s). Even when exposed, single copper conductors can easily break off during the crimping process.
Q: 8. Hi: i need to know pin out configuration for this item? thanks
A: The Avid DigiSnakes feature Tascam pinouts on their DB25 connectors.
Q: 9. What are the dimensions of the XLR box itself? Specs say 19" x 19" but that seems way too big. The picture looks more like 8" x 8" or 9" x 9". Can you verify?
A: I called and Woody at Pro Co looked it up; it's 7 x 7 x 3"
Q: 10. Some Ethercon cables have a stiff cable that feels like plastic and then some are soft more like a xlr cable. What kind of cable is this?
A: This cable does has have a more rigid feel to it.
