Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. what is the distance between the legs measured from the floor when at maximum height? I would like to know how much space it takes up when at maximum height

A: The distance from the outer edge of the feet when tripod is fully extended to maximum height is 43

Q: 2. Can this Monopod support a Canon 7D MK II camera fitted with a Canon 70 - 200mm zoom lens?

A: Yes it can. Got it for my Nikon D5 + all heavy lenses.

Q: 3. Do you ship items to malaysia?

A: You may calculate your actual shipping options/order totals by adding the items you want to a shopping cart. It will then list the shipping options, descriptions, ETA's and fees to your location.

Q: 4. Can you fully fold up this tripod with the Sirui K-20x Ball Head attached?

A: I don't think so. I use a Really Right Stuff BH-30 on mine (which appears to be a lighter ball head than the Sirui K-20x) and cannot completely fold this tripod without removing the head. The problem is that, once the legs are folded back over the top of the tripod, there's very little room between them to accommodate a head of any size.

Q: 5. what is the overall diameter of the tripod when folded?

A: I'm assuming by your question by diameter you mean the distance all the way around the tripod. If you mean diameter to mean the distance straight across the widest point when folded, it would measure about 4 . Not sure what the relevancy of that measurement is. The most important statistics are weight and what it folds up to and what height it extends to. All of those numbers are accurately provided for on the product site. Hope that clarifies.

Q: 6. Where it made?

A: Made in Italy

Q: 7. Im thinking of investing in this tripod for my upcoming China trip where I be doing ALOT of hiking up and down steps. What ballheads are people using with this tripod? I've narrowed my choice to the Markins Q3i-Tr (quick screw) and the Acratech gp-ss (lever) heads. The main advantage of the Acratech is its ability to invert for panos. I also love the lever release, it feels great to use. The friction control of the gp-ss is terrible compared to the Markins. After testing both (albeit six months apart) I certain the Acratech had more droop after locking down the ball. I did the test with a 5D3 and 70-200f/4 lens @ 200mm.

A: I use the Arca Swiss PO ball head also. No problem holding my Canon 5D 4 with 100-400 Canon zoom and 1.4 extender. I also sometimes use a Wimberley gimbal head with no problems.

Q: 8. Can Manfrotto 449SC2 Suction Cup with Retractable Spiked foot fit into this monopod?

A: Unfortunately not. The Manfrotto foot is only designed to work on the Manfrotto 694 and 449 monopods.

Q: 9. Has anyone used this tripod with a Mamiya RB67 and how does it preform for you?

A: The Gitzo GIGT0545T Traveler Series 0 Carbon Fiber Tripod is excellent for the Mamiya RB67 Medium Format Film camera. However, you do need to add a tripod head. The Benro HD1A 3-Way Panhead, BH #BEHD1A, is a good option.

Q: 10. When the legs are folded (and no ball head, what is the circumference at the fattest point? I'm trying to compare it to the same measurement for the GIGT1545T so I have a feel for how much room it will take up in my travel bag. Thanks.

A: Its widest point is the top of the first twist lock, roughly a width (lock to lock, like an equilateral triangle) of 106.13mm using my calipers. Calculating for outer linear dimensions, that makes it 318.39mm / 12.5". If considering its diameter, it's 96.79mm at the same closest lateral point, which puts its circumference at roughly 304.07mm / 11.97".

I was a little hesitant to buy this because of the cost, however I took the plunge. What impressed me the most was how sturdy the tripod is. I put my Nikon 850 with a f2,8 70-200 lens on and it felt like my Induro monster tripos. One reason I chose this model is that it puts the view finder at my eye level. Tall folks might not get this advantage. I used a small RRS ball head that I already had but am looking for a beefier head. Major advantages of this tripod is it's compact 14 inch stored state and its weight. I bought it for travel photography and it fits this use perfectly.

Perfect tripod for traveling with a compact size of 14 inches, and light weight. This tripod will fit easily in a suitcase or backpack folded up with a ball head. Will be using the Really Right Stuff BH30 as a ball head for the Gitzo GIGT1555T Traveler Series. The tripod folds nicely and compact with the Really Right Stuff BH30 head.

Very sturdy and well built to hold your camera steady and at height that works well.
