Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the zoom and focus of this lens be controlled with the Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Pro, focus and zoom demand accessories?

A: Yes, the Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 45-175mm f/4-5.6 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens is compatible with the Blackmagic Design Zoom Demand and the Blackmagic Design Focus Demand.

Q: 2. What is the widest aperture when zoom is set to 110mm?

A: Generally, the moment you move from the widest mm on ramping aperture lenses, the f/stop starts to close. The stop at 110mm in not in the specs of this lens but we would say it it would be at least f/5 if not f/5.6.

Q: 3. Can you control the zoom on this lens using the Blackmagic Studio camera and LANC control?

A: Yes, you can. Note release from BMD here: We've just released Camera v1.9.8 which adds MFT zoom control for the Studio Camera and Studio Camera 4K via a connected LANC to the following lenses:Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 Power O.I.S. Q: 4. is this the V2? Weather sealed? Good for Dual IS on GH5?

A: No, there is not a second version of this lens. This would be a great lens to use with the GH5 and has excellent optical stabilization, but not the newer and better dual IS you will find with the newer lenses. It is not weather sealed.

Q: 5. is the lens parfocal, ie. does your subject stay in focus when zooming in or out?

A: This lens is not parfocal.

Q: 6. Does this lens extend / get larger when zooming or does it have internal zoom like the Panasonic 35-100 mm 2.8 keeping the same size in length?

A: No, it does not extend as it has internal zoom.

Q: 7. Is this lens compatible with the GH4?

A: I am not familiar with GH4 and cannot provide this information.

Q: 8. is this good for the gx85?

A: We bought this lens for GH4 and like it very much. Have at it.

Q: 9. Are the zoom and focus rings on this lens covered with rubber? How are the lens coatings on this lens? Thank, Larry

A: Hi Larry, the rings are made of hard rubber and have a very good grip. They aren't made of plastic as the ones in the original camera lens(14-42mm). I'm very happy of this lens, it's very gradual also in the manual mode. I usually use it for take video and the power zoom is probably better that the one in my canon xl1s.

Q: 10. is this lens compatible with an olympus omd em1iii? can i use the olympus android app (on my tablet) to zoom the lens automatically?

A: The Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 45-175mm f/4-5.6 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. is compatible with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III, but it is not compatible with the Olympus app.
