The LensCoat Gimbal Tripod Head Cover (Realtree Max4 HD) is a form-fitted cover designed for a Jobu BSG-HD2 gimbal tripod head. The cover is made of closed-cell neoprene that provides protection from scrapes and bumps, preserving its appearance and resale value. It also helps break up the shape, making it less noticeable to wildlife. The cover also acts as a thermal barrier, helping to protect the hands in hot and cold temperatures.

The Realtree Advantage Max4 HD camouflage pattern offers maximum effectiveness in open terrain. The pattern incorporates cattails, millet, milo, corn stalks, sunflowers, oak and maple leaves, cedar and oak limbs, plus a variety of other plant life into the largest camouflage artwork on the market.

This item is made in the USA.

Q: 1. hi everyone.i am having nikon d810 with 200-500mm lens and recently i purchased gitzo tripod 5542ls .Now i am looking for the gimbal head probably wimberely 200 and sigma 150-600mm.Please suggest me should i go for it and which quick releases plate i should buy ?

A: I'm using the same set up with a Nikon 800e. I'm very satisfied with everything, works great.

Q: 2. Will Jobu Design Replacement Foot for Sigma 150-600 Sport Super Telephoto Lens, B&H # JOLFS156S MFR # LF-S156S work with Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal Tripod Head II ?

A: All the quick plates and have the same width. That will work

Q: 3. How much does the WH-200 weigh? My friend has the Jobu Heavy Duty Mark IV, and he loves it. Which is the better gimbal mount? The Jobu is $130 less, btw.

A: The Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal Tripod Head II with Quick Release Base weighs 3.1 lb / 1.4 kg. Both that and the Jobu Design DMG-HD4 Heavy Duty Gimbal Head MK IV are very good gimbals. Wimberley as a brand is top rated for gimbals and plates. And it can support much more weight at no more than 100 lb (45kg).

Q: 4. I have seen a side mount conversion advertised for this head. I plan to use a Canon 1dX 2 with a 600mm L IS 2 or a 300mm L. Other than smaller size, why would you use the side mount conversion kit? Is there any reason why I couldn't rotate the collar on the lens to shoot in portrait mode? Is there any reason why my rig wouldn't fit perfectly on this head?

A: I use the head with a Nikon 600mm f4 lens so it is not quite the same, but with the larger lenses, it seems as if the design is pretty optimized to have the center of gravity pass pretty much through the gimbal axis in both azimuth and elevation. I would think that altering the design intent by using a side mount may cause this balance to be changed slightly. Probably not a big deal, but the balance with the head as it is really works well. The head and associated tripod are fairly heavy so saving ounces does not seem worth it to me...my two cents.

Q: 5. can a wimberley be used with a monopod?

A: Yes it can. The monopod is lighter and easier to walk around with but still gives more stability than just hand holding a long lens.

Q: 6. Is the wh 200 compatible with gitzo 2545 or 2542?

A: I have a Gitzo tripod but not the models you mention. However, I am sure that the WH-200 is compatible with the Gitzo 2542. Here are the three things I considered to provide this answer.First, the tripod is sturdy enough to support the WH-200 and a large telephoto lens.Second, the diameter of the WH-200 will easily rest on the top plate on the Gitzo tripod. There will be no clearance problems.Third, the Gitzo has a threaded center post that can be rotated to accommodate either a 1/4 or 3/8 inch thread by simply removing the top plate and rotating the center post 180 degrees. My Gitzo tripod has a similar top plate and threaded center post and I can confidently state that the combo will accommodate just about any head I have ever encountered. My Gitzo/WH-200 combo is one of the most stable platforms I have ever used and I would recommend it to anyone. Again, it is not the model you specified, but that model Gitzo is clearly very stable and well constructed just as mine.

Q: 7. I have Mefoto C1350 Road trip tripod and Canon 100-400mm plus 1.4 Extender. Is my Tripod sturdy enough to use with the Wimberly Gimbal Head?

A: I'm not sure. I have a Gitzo GT5543XLS Systematic Series 5 Carbon Fiber Tripod (Extra Long). It has a load capacity of 88lbs. Yours has a weight capacity of 17lb. Its sort of like comparing apples and oranges. I don't want to say yes, but I can't say no. The Wimberly is made for much heavier lenses than the 100400. I use it for a 300mm f/2.8 and a 600mm f/4.0. Both of these lenses are much heavier and require good support. The Wimberly is certainly up to the task of holding any lens you put on it.

Q: 8. Is this compatible with Gitzo tripods

A: Yes, this gimbal head will work with any tripod with a 3/8" threaded stud, including the Gitzo tripods.

Q: 9. Which tripod (cost is NOT a factor) would you reccomend for this Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal tripod head? I will be mounting a Nikkor 400mm, f2.8 or a Nikkor 600mm, f 4 lens (both of which I recently purchased from B&H) with a Nikon D4 body onto the rig. I need a compatible tripod that will allow me to just drop the Wimberley head directly into the top of the tripod and tighten it down without any additional adaptors or anything else. I'm just not sure which tripod (legs) are compatible with this head. Can you give me a recommendation or recommendations ? Thanks so much for your assistance. You guys at B&H are the BEST!

A: Generally speaking, tripods should support double the weight you are going to put on it and have a maximum height equal to the photographer using it (so you are not slouching down to look into your viewfinder). There are many tripods that can work. I recommend the Gitzo Series 3 6X Systematic 4-Section X-Long Tripod due to its durability, stability and high quality. Its made from Aluminum and is heavier than most carbon fiber tripods but with the added weight you get a more sturdier platform for your gear. This tripod can support up to 55 lb (25 kg) and has a maximum height of 6.6' (2.0 m) The link for that tripod is, http://bhpho.to/JB8vab

Q: 10. would this head be compatible with a Manfrotto 441 Carbon Fiber?

A: Should be compatible with any tri-pod. I have two different Manfrotto tri-pods and two Wimberly WH-200 Gimbals and both mounted on the 3/8 thread. No problems.
