Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there any means to level this tripod to use it on unlevel surfaces?

A: To stabilize the ProAm USA Stand Support for DVC210, DVC200, DVC60, and DVC50 Camera Cranes on un-even surfaces, you can use a levelling head. It will be important that your choice can handle the payload.

Q: 2. Will it work with the Sony 55-210 on a Alpha a6300 body? Also, can I mount this piece on my Promaster Fluid head tripod?

A: Yes, this will fit your camera. You will need to thread this device into your previous existing head.

Q: 3. I have the orion dvc210 and am curious if I get this tripod will the jib pan or do I need to buy the 360 pan adapter?

A: The Crane Stand will pan the Orion DVC210 360 degrees. Instructions are included regarding the installation. If you want to mount the DVC210 directly to your own tripod, use the 360 pan adapter.

Q: 4. Can I put wheels on it?

A: If you have the ability to build a base with wheels that it could sit in, possibly. If you have access to specialized casters/wheels maybe so. I think it would be a custom build if you did.

Q: 5. Does this work with the Nikon p900

A: Yes this will work with the Nikon P900.

Q: 6. Will this work with my Sony RX10iv?

A: Yes and no. The RX10 Mk IV fits onto the RC2/200PL system easily, but because the barrel of the lens is smaller in diameter than the camera is tall, when parallel to the lens support, the lens support does not bear the weight of the lens at all. Using the 234 tilt head, you -could- tilt the head/camera downwards so that the lens is supported by the platform, but from testing here at the store, the lens does not exhibit significant downward weight/torque on the camera side, so it really shouldn't be necessary.

Q: 7. Will this be compatible with a Canon 70-200 f/2.8?

A: For this specific combo, I do not have an answer. However, I have a collection of a number of classic SLR's and lenses and have this attachment. While a little cumbersome, have found it very useful for a number of systems and prime and zoom lenses, including Olympus, Canon FD, Minolta MD, and several Nikons. I would purchase it again and believe it will probably work for the 2.8 Canon. Primes work better than zooms I have tried. All my equipment is manual focus so have no comment for AF. It's a jury-rig, but I find it helpful to wrap a thick rubber band around the zoom barrel to help keep the same zoom settings in place.

Q: 8. What is the shortest distance between the 1/4 inch threaded attachment to the front lens support?

A: There are 3 1/4 inch and 3 3/8 inch threaded attachment positions. The front lens support can be positioned directly over each of them. The front lens support is on a sliding arm that can be reversed to shorten the distance from the camera base.

Q: 9. Will this fit a Sony a7r IV with a Sony FE 24-240mm lens?

A: Hi--that lens is too short to fit this support--the minimum length is 7.9" and the 24-240mm lens is only 4.67" long.

Q: 10. Can I mount a Manfrotto 502HD Pro Video Head with Flat Base (3/8 -16 Connection) on this crane stand? Would I need an adaptor?

A: The mounting screw is 3/8 -16 so it would attach to any head that has that matching hole. However the length of the screw must be considered. It is long enough? Is it too long? It appears to be about 1 so it should be just right.
