Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. It is possible to connect this monitor to a new Mac Pro 2020 using AMD Pro W5700X (16GB)?

A: Yes, using an HDMI 2.0-rated cable.

Q: 2. Does this monitor have thin bezel like its 27" version? Some videos/pictures on the web show it being thicker than what's shown here.

A: It looks like there is a discrepancy with the images. The Ben Q website does show a thicker bezel on this model. I have submitted the issue to our web content team so it can be updated as soon as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Q: 3. Aside from the internals, is this the exact same monitor (panel and stand) as the PD3200U?

A: The panel types are the same but the stand dimensions are different.

Q: 4. I already own an X-Rite Display calibrator with my NEC display. Will it work with this monitor?

A: Yes, you can use an X-Rite calibration tool with the BenQ SW321C Photo and Video Editing Monitor.

Q: 5. How much of the ProPhoto RGB color space does this cover?

A: The manufacturer not mention the color gamut percentage for ProPhoto RGB. The color space for the BenQ SW321C 32" 16:9 4K HDR IPS Photo and Video Editing Monitor is as it follows: Color Gamut 99% Adobe RGB; 95% DCI-P3; 100% sRGB; 100% Rec. 709

Q: 6. I'm looking for a color grading monitor for broadcast TV. I see this has Rec. 709; great! But can it accept a 1080i (interlaced) signal at 59.94/60 over its HDMI port? Thanks for any info.

A: The BenQ SW321C 32" 16:9 4K HDR IPS Photo and Video Editing Monitor BH #BESW321C supports 1080i EDID timing at 59.94/60 over HDMI.

Q: 7. I have a Dell XPS 9500 15 inch laptop. I would like to have output to this monitor and to a second monitor. What is required to have the two monitor setup?

A: You can use a thunderbolt 3.0 or USB-C 3.1 Docking Station with multiple display port outputs and the required cables for the monitors. The Dell D3100 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Docking Station (DED3100), would get the job done.

Q: 8. Can someone please confirm the depth dimension in the stand? Above it says 223.6 (8.8"). But I've read 13.4" elsewhere. My desk is not very deep, but I was really sold on this monitor.

A: The stand has a 5.7" depth.

Q: 9. The max brightness here is listed at 250 which is well below the lower priced ASUS pro art pa329c which seems to have equal specs otherwise. Why would one pay more for this - with seemingly inferior specs? I feel I’m missing something. Any input is appreciated. Regardless, the 250 max brightness is concerning to me since most other monitors in this class seem to far exceed that.

A: If you are looking for a professional photo editing monitor, while some can go higher, the brightness will ultimately have an effect on how accurate the image is when you are looking at it. For example, if you have an Adobe RGB workflow, the recommended target brightness to properly display that color space is 160 nits which is much lower than what most people might think. In the end, it will ultimately depend on what your specific workflow needs are and the color spaces that you work with. If you have any other questions, please reach out to pc@bhphotovideo.com so we can discuss further.

Q: 10. How I can safety clean this screen ?

A: To safely clean the screen of the BenQ SW321C 32" 16:9 4K HDR IPS Photo and Video Editing Monitor, you'd need an LCD cleaner and a microfiber cloth. Please see the following link for a recommended cleaner you could use for this BenQ monitor: https://bhpho.to/3Th0Ppt. You may notice that it mentions it's for Apple displays, but it will work great for this monitor as well.
