A: As noted below, it will work with any tripod head that has an Arca Swiss mount. It is the mount on the head the plate has to match. This is specified in the specs on the mount you have, and the mounts are, in general, designed to work with most tripods, or can be adapted to easily. I have the Nikon D810 version, and it works beautifully, making it very easy and fast to switch from landscape to portrait orientations. As noted though, you have to have a mount or your tripod is pretty much useless.

A: Yes you can, but you will also need a nodal rail to give you a mounting point oriented perpendicular to the mounting surface of the L-Plate. This also allows the camera to be moved back and forth on the rail to achieve balance with different lenses.

A: The bracket made for use with the camera and grip might fit, but it may not fit properly because it has been designed and machined for the grip only. The openings and connections will all be off and may get in the way of using your camera if it is not used properly, with or without the grip.
