You are taking photos at a party or other group event and you need to take portraits, group shots and some action. The Dot Line RPS RS-0420/P Digital Flash Bracket Kit will conveniently make your shooting more effective. It includes all the necessary components for using a shoe mount flash raised above the lens, off-camera. Included are the required heavy-duty off-camera shoe cord that maintains full TTL flash control, even with the latest digital cameras, and an electronic cable release that allows triggering the shutter directly from the bracket.

The flash bracket will increase the distance between the flash head and the lens up to 18" (45.7 cm) in order to minimize the occurrence of redeye and to also reduce flash-shadows behind the subject. The rotating camera platform keeps the flash centered over the lens both for horizontal and vertical compositions and can be used both left and right handed.

This kit is for use with Pentax K20D, K200D, K10D, K100D, and K7 digital cameras.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this transmitter work with the flashpoint rovelight 600?

A: No. At least not all of the best features of TTL and Power control. It could be used to trigger the Flashpoint but one could do this with a Strato II or even an Ares.

Q: 2. I manual mode, would it send signal to adjust the A and ISO to the flash? Like it would in TTL?

A: Christian, I am not sure. I a never tested that out. I don't think it would because it is a manual mode

Q: 3. Will the Odin ii for Nikon work with a Mitros made for Canon? Wondering if you can mix and match Mitros units as long as the Odin controller is the Nikon version on a Nikon camera.

A: If updated to the Odin Z firmware it will be able to work for manual communication only.

Q: 4. Does the Odin II work with older non-ttl film cameras?

A: I would suggest a manual trigger & receiver without TTL. There are many available options for much less than the Odin II. With the Odin II you are paying a premium for the TTL feature.

Q: 5. Will it work with the sony hvl60 flash?

A: I purchased the Phottix Odin II to use with my Sony A77II. I also own the Sony HVL60 flash. From everything I ready these 2 do not work together, so I also purchased the Phottix Mitros FLASH that comes with the transceiver built in. This works fine with the trigger and can also be used on the Sony A77II hot shoe. The refresh time for the Phottix Mitrox flash on the hot shoe is slower, however, than the refresh time for the HVL60.

Q: 6. Can it fully control with Pentax system to Rotolight Neo 2 or Anova Pro 2 in a same way with Elinchrom EL-Skyport Plus HS for another brands?

A: No, it will not. Rotolight has a special relationship with Elinchrom allowing the Elinchrom Skyport Radio Receiver to be built inside the Rotolight NEO 2 LED Light and the Rotolight Anova Pro LED Light, and is only fully compatible for use with Elinchrom Skyport Transmitters. There is no Phottix Odin receiver built inside either of the above light fixtures. As such, to use the Phottix Odin II TTL Flash Trigger Transmitter for Pentax, you would have to connect a Phottix Odin receiver to the sync terminal on the rear of the Rotolight fixture via a miniphone to miniphone (1/8 to 1/8 or 3.5mm to 3.5mm) sync cable. Do note you will not have High Speed Sync with this setup, so your shutter speed would be limited to 1/250 sec or slower.

Q: 7. Will this work with a Nikon D780?

A: Yes, the transmitter is made to adapt to Nikons TTL ecosystem.

Q: 8. I can't figure out how to make the Odin ii work with my Strato ii receivers. Feels like i have gone through every channel combo. What's the trick ?

A: Have you downloaded the latest firmware for the Strato receivers?

Q: 9. Will this Odin II Transmitter for Canon trigger Mitros+ for Sony using Odin RX?Thanks :)

A: Transmitters for Canon can only trigger Mitros+ for Canon. Sony can only trigger for Sony.

Q: 10. Did it work for another flashes like ( godex or other ) !

A: We have no data on non-brand maker flashes. All accessory makers develop products on their own with no assistance from the brand makers. Although they work diligently to make fully compatible equipment, there can be some areas or features that may not work well. Normal shooting may never discover any operating problems. However, when two different brands of accessory products are used together, a programming error in one might affect a programming error in another which would never be encountered by a brand maker product. As it is the brand maker cameras that the Phottix is made for, little if any testing is done for non brand maker units. If you are looking to build a system of non-brand maker equipment, I recommend choosing a good product and stick with that family of products.
