Q: 1. can i use this on a devin graham glidecam and a jib? also, can you reccomend the kind of cables i need if i were to use this on a 8ft jib. thanks

A: Hi Divine - yes, it should work fine! we don't have direct experience with the glidecam, but many customers use it with steadicam, which works the same. Remember you'll need a small lightweight battery, check out our new lp-e6 battery adapter, which is about to be released (you will want to ask for part number 2-178-0001)this bundle is great for that. For a jib you'll want a longer cable, which we can make to size, but you will need to contact us at redrock micro direct for that cable. Everything else is available here.

Q: 2. Are these safe to use with Cine lenses? I have a set of Zeiss CP2 Lenses with a Nikon Fmount and want to use them with a C200.

A: The Redrock Micro Nikon F to Canon EF Lens Mount Adapter (3-Pack) (B&H# RE80630001) is safe for use with cine lenses as it features a locking set screw to improve its stability. However, as always, we'd recommend also using a lens support for larger lenses.

Q: 3. I see that the basestation is wireless ready , does that mean it will connect and work with the handheld wireless remote?

A: Hi Anthony - yes that is correct. just add this hand unit (you can purchase it later) and its ready for wireless:a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1014379-REG/redrock_micro_3_114_0001_microremote_handheld_wireless_focus.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1014379-REG/redrock_micro_3_114_0001_microremote_handheld_wireless_focus.html/aplease note the picture of the hand unit is outdated - the new version is slimmer and smaller

Q: 4. If I use this with a 5d, will the lens communicate with the body? i.e., will autofocus work, will I see exposure information, will it work in movie mode? Thanks!

A: Unfortunately, through my personal experience, I have found that the adapter only works with Nikon glass that does NOT have the electronic features. There aren't any electrical connections on the mount itself. Hope this helps

Q: 5. Do you still need a battery pack of some kind to power it? If so what's the cheapest and lightest battery option?

A: Hi Dane - yes the microRemote does require power from an external source. You have a lot of options hereIf you are using an existing gimbal, you can often tap into the power provided from the gimbal's lipo battery (make sure you have the correct cable there). DJI, Freefly, and Letus are among the options thereif you need a standalone battery, you can use any p-tap compatible 12-14.4v battery. We often recommend switronix powerBase (there are many options, make sure to choose the one that is right for you) or a swit battery for sony camcorders with built-in p-tap like this one a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1027696-REG/swit_s_8u63_li_ion_rechargeable_battery.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1027696-REG/swit_s_8u63_li_ion_rechargeable_battery.html/ayou can also ask any BH representative for a battery solution that is 12-18vDC, has a built-in p-tap battery source, and does not require a plate to use. Hope that helps

Q: 6. I bought two of these to use with the Zeiss Milvus 21mm and the 50mm. I can only focus to about 15 feet away from me at anything below f8 and even at f16 things 50 yards off are not sharp. Do I need to ship the lens or does do something with the CPU connectors? Any help welcome.

A: Hi Jack - this is a question that is better answered by our support organization - please contact support@redrockmicro.comJust to confirm you are using nikon lenses and adapting to a canon EOS body? These absolutely enable focus to infinity, so you are really far off, not sure if they are being used properly, but go ahead and drop them an email, thanks!

Q: 7. Are the FLEXcables included?

A: The cables pictured are included.

Q: 8. Anyone used these with Zeiss zf.2 and Milvus lenses on video cameras? If so, do they work correctly and stay snug while focusing?

A: Haven't used specifically with those lenses, but can attest to the firmness and no play whatsoever in these adapters. Three micro screws physically bolt the adapter to the lens mount so they are solid as a rock. No wiggle at all.

Q: 9. Will I be able to use the start / stop function on the a7S II? If so, what cable will I need? The Micro-D HDMI output is occupied by an Atomos Shogun, if that has anything to do with it.

A: Remote video start/stop for DSLRs and Mirrorless cameras generally does not exist. The issue is that for most cameras, which includes the a7S II, the video button is on an separate, non-connected circuit and cannot be activated except by a manual press of the button. Even the Sony WiFi app cannot activate video recording. I am afraid that we will have to wait for a model change before we can start using the MicroRemote on a a7 camera.

Q: 10. What is the weight limit of this adapter? I want to attach a 2 pound lens to a BMPC.

A: Hi and thanks for your question. two pound lens is fine for this adapter. The weak link for this would be the lens mount itself, so we would highly recommend a lens support such as the microLensSupport.
