If you are using one of the smaller, entry level cameras that may have a battery grip, it may fit (all depending on where the screw to connect the bracket to the grip and if it provides enough clearance for the flash). However, most entry level cameras do not have battery grips, and the mid-size cameras with grips would be too large for use. This would specifically depend on the equipment you own, but the safe rule is to use it without the battery grip on your camera.

A: Fans on lights of this level will with the Amaran 200d will make some noise. If you are able to use a mic with an isolating pattern and move it from the light you can work around the fan noise. If you are using only a multidirectional room mic with the mic placed near the light you will of course pick up the fan.
