A: I'm surprised by the answer from Hosa. I am not a true "audio guy" but my understanding is that a balanced signal requires a cable with three conductors: +, -, and ground. The signal is carried on the + and - conductors and that is why it is more robust than an unbalanced signal. (True audio guys, feel free to correct me if this is wrong.) So if you are starting with an unbalanced signal, this converter will not "create" a balanced signal out of an unbalanced one.
