By distributing ambient illumination to darker areas within a scene, this filter is useful in helping to uniformly balance the tonal range among highlights and shadows. Detail is increased within shadow regions while flare and halation around highlights is purposely limited.

This filter has a grade of 1/2. Grades of 1/8, 1/4, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are also available where this filter type's effect becomes approximately twice as strong with each grade number increase.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch.

I opted for the 256GB version which if examined closely, has a very small U1 symbol in the far right corrner indicating that it is cataforized as such. It transfers information at 90MB/s and works flawlessly. I feel that investing just a little more goes a long way toward success. The camera is an outstanding value for the buck and coupled with a strong SDXC card, they're both winners in my book.

A: Hello! The camcorder has a single card slot. When using an SD card not from Panasonic, or one previously used on other equipment, for the first time on this unit, format the SD card. When the SD card is formatted, all of the recorded data is deleted. Once the data is deleted, it cannot be restored. You can use these cards with the unit: SD Memory Card (512 MB to 2 GB), SDHC Memory Card (4 GB to 32 GB) and SDXC Memory Card (48 GB/64 GB). Hope this helps! -C
