Q: 1. Considering a few lenses for a Canon 70D: Tokina 11-16mm DXII f/2.8, Canon 10-18mm f/4.5, and Canon 10-22mm f/3.5. I find myself shooting in low light fairly often which makes me lean toward the Tokina (which I love except it is a little soft at the edges and CA/lens flares can be annoying). If I am packing and using a tripod and often shooting big landscapes, is the f/4.5 of the 10-18 that much of a deal breaker? I hike and its light weight makes it appealing for backpacking too.

A: For me it delivers great IQ with CA no more than normal for this type of lens and if you always keep a tripod around and even you don't the f/4.5 isn't quite a problem because of the IS and light weight, I've made several night shots hand held with sharp results as slow as 1/8th. And it will save you some weight.

Q: 2. I have a rebel t1i and would like a nice wide angle lens for landscape and for a trip to Europe. I'm debating whether I should get the 10-18mm or 10-22mm with no IS. The 10-18 is significantly cheaper which is a huge plus but I'm not necessarily set on that. Any suggestions or better recommendations?

A: I don't know this lens compares to the 10-18mm, but we have really enjoyed using the 10-22. We spend a lot of time outdoors, especially in the mountains, and use this lens a lot. Makes beautiful photos of mountain views, including the waterfalls!

Q: 3. Is this 10-22mm lens compatible with the canon 70D?

A: Any Canon lens designed for SLR cameras will have one red dot (EF lenses) or a white square (EF-S lenses). These will correspond to respective markers on the camera's mounting ring. If your camera has both (like the 70D has), then it will work with either lens, including the EF-S 10-22mm lens above. The EF-S lenses are tailored for the crop sensor in the non-full-frame range of DSLR's Canon manufactures. The EF lenses are for the full frame sensors that equip the likes of Canon 5D (I, II, III) and 1D(S, X, etc) range of cameras. The EF lenses look different on a crop sensor camera: for example, a 50mm EF lens would look equivalent to an 80mm EF-S because of the crop factor the 70D has (1.6) compared to a full-frame camera. Note the lens is still an effective 50mm (that does not change).

Q: 4. Will this lens work with a Canon EOS 10D?

A: I have used mine on a Sony A6000 with the Fotodiox adapter and it works perfectly.

Q: 5. Does this work with the Canon EOS M6 Mark II mirrorless?

A: The Canon 10-22mm can be adapted to the Canon M6 Mark 2 by using this adapter https://bhpho.to/3RBLk9E or you could get this 11-22mm that fits the M6 Mark 2 directly: https://bhpho.to/3Yp4S3m.

Q: 6. I know some EF-S lenses are won't, but will this work with a EF-MF3 Metabones XL .64 adapter? or will the 10mm be too wide for the gh4 sensor?

A: The 10-18 is not compatible with the lens adapter.

Q: 7. Hi I from INDIA, I wanted to have 10-18mm WIde angle Canon Lens. If i Order through online with paying delivery charges then still do i need to pay any custom charges? here in INDIA? please confirm.

A: Currently we do not collect any duties, taxes or custom charges when shipping to India. You may still need to pay those fees when the items arrive in India.

Q: 8. Do you recommend the Hoya - 67mm NXT Circular Polarizer Filter or is there another that pairs better with the Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM Lens?

A: I am using the 67mm Zeiss T* Pol Filter (circular) with the 10-18. The T* antireflective coating avoids flare of stray light and is claimed to let 99.5% light transmittance through it. I have been using it for landscape shots and also indoors, in museums for example, where objects displayed are sometimes protected by glass shields and reflections are really a problem. Pictures turn to be cleaner and much better defined. I am extremely satisfied with this filter. As for the Hoya filter, to say the truth, I have no idea, since I never had the chance to use it, but I presume it might be OK also.

Q: 9. Hi there, do you sell any UV Filters for this Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM Lens? Is it possible to buy the lens and UV filter together from you?

A: B&H has a wide variety of filters, including 67 mm filters which fit this lens. I never buy a lens without purchasing a UV filter for it, and I like to have a circular polarizer for all my lenses. B&H has a wide range of both for this lens and I ordered both with it. I chose a Hoya NXT UV filter and a Hoya NXT CIR-PL, but you will find a wide variety, some costing less, and some more. You can speak with a B&H rep who can help you understand the choices, but it's up to you. And I highly recommend that you order at least a UV filter when you buy the lens, if only to protect the lens. Every lens I own has a UV filter which stays on all the time.

Q: 10. This Lens works with canon eso t7i?

A: Yes. The t71 is a crop sensor camera and this lens works with all crop sensor cameras. The only cameras it wont work with are full frame cameras.
