Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this scanner scan 6x7 Medium Format film? are there 6x7 format film adapters?

A: It will fit the 6x7 film. The adapter is universal between 6x6 and 6x7. You can only scan two 6x7 at a time but you can do it. It was designed to perfectly fit 3 6x6 negatives.

Q: 2. Does This have memory card slot or flash drive slots?

A: No. But I am very happy with respect to my main use which is scanning 35MM slides. I tried more expensive machines and thank God B&H took them back no questions asked.

Q: 3. Will film holders made for and used with an Epson V700 fit the Epson V600?

A: Unfortunately no. The Epson V600 has a smaller transparency scanning area than the V700 so the V700 holders would not align properly. However, the V600 comes with it's own holders for 35mm slides, negatives, and 120 film. The V600 cannot scan 4x5 or 8x10 film like the V700 did. The replacement scanner for the V700 is the V850 and it comes with 2 sets of film holders for all sizes up to 4x5. Please take a look at the following link: https://bhpho.to/38wyyag

Q: 4. I want to scan my 35mm panorama negatives taken with a Widelux panorama camera. Each negative strip is the same size as any other 35mm negative strip, but each negative frame in a strip is wider than a standard 35mm negative because it is a panorama. Each negative frame is 24mm x 58mm, which is wider than a standard negative frame. My question is, will the V600 scanner recognize that each of my negative frames are not the standard size? I have a Nikon Cool Scan scanner and it has a default setting that only accepts standard negative frames and when scanning my panorama negatives it automatically divides my panorama negatives into two files rather than one.

A: V600 handles only standard 35 mm negatives. Search the HP Photosmart S20. Some reviewers mentioned it'll handle 35mm frames of arbitrary length, up to the equivalent of 5 standard frames (about 7 inches).

Q: 5. Has this item been discontinued?

A: This item has not been discontinued. As of January 2021 this item is still current. It is not in stock currently as it is on backorder from the manufacturer.

Q: 6. Will it work with the next OS for Mac(64 bit)?

A: Yes, they released an update that allows it to work with Mac OS (64 bit).

Q: 7. How much RAM is required on the computer to use this scanner?

A: I have 8 Gb of RAM but that is not necessary. As your scanned images, slides, for instance, increase in resolution, handling the resulting file size takes more time. As usual, the more RAM the better. It speeds things up. Simple scans of snapshots would require much less memory.

Q: 8. IS this compatible with MacBook Pro M2 running Ventura?

A: Yes, the Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner is compatible with a MacBook Pro M2 running Ventura.

Q: 9. I still have a workng HP PC with XP Pro that I use for for special projects. Would the V600 be compatible with Windows XP ?

A: Yes.

Q: 10. Does it scan photos at 6400 optical?

A: Yes the maximum optical resolution of the Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner is 6400dpi.
