A: This battery will absolutely work with the XL2 camera, as far as powering it up. It won't communicate battery life to the XL2, but the battery check on the back of the battery will still guide you. I have a couple of XL2's that I built my business up on. I've since moved on to the XF camera's, but can interchange batteries easily. I would highly recommend buying the BP-975 though.
