Q: 1. The person who left a review for this product said he could not connect his 105mm macro, what is the reason for this ?

A: This is old school macro. I would not use this with a macro (micro in Nikon terms) lens. It is intended to be used with a fixed focus standard lens such as 50mm for example. Nikon used to make these before they started making dedicated micro lenses. The bellows allows for the standard lens to be run further out from the film (sic) plane and thus magnify the image. All coupling to the body will be lost thus electronic diaphragms are disconnected. All lenses that precede the G series should be OK because you can manually set the aperture. I suspect setting exposure entails some Kentucky windage along with trial and error. G series lenses would have to be set based on a wide open aperture and just live with the reduced depth of field.

Q: 2. What other parts do I need to use the bellows on my Nikon D5300 camera?

A: The FotodioX Macro Bellows for Nikon F Mount Camera Systems, B&H # FOMBNFMCS, would connect directly to the Nikon D5300 DSLR camera, and the lens would connect directly to the front of the bellows. The only other item you would need would be a tripod to mount the setup on the tripod for usage. Do note that you will have to use the camera in full manual mode when using the bellows system on your camera.

Q: 3. Hypothetically, could you adjust the rails to turn this into a tilt shift adapter too? Mainly using it at the shortest distance so it doesn't effect infinite focus? Also is infinity focus effected when the bellows are fully retracted?

A: It can not be used for tilt shift. It is a macro rail so it can not go to infinity.

Q: 4. Is this compatible with the pentax K1

A: As the K1 has the standard Pentax K-Mount, it should be compatible. It will, however, only work in Manual mode.

Q: 5. I noticed it has a hole in the front. in the old Nikon PB-4 or PB-5 models you could use the PS-5 slide copying attachment. Does anyone know if the PS-5 will work with this Fotodiox nodel?

A: Yes, it will attach.

Q: 6. Is there any provision for setting the f/stop if this is used with current lenses without f/stop ring?

A: Unfortunately, a Pentax K mount lens would need to have an aperture ring in order to use the Fotodiox Macro Bellows properly.

Q: 7. So I got a partial answer from Jason about this not working with large lenses like the Canon 100-400, but will it work with the Sigma 18-250macro?

A: Yes, it will work fine with the Sigma 18-250mm.

Q: 8. Does this bellows work with the canon 5d mark IV without using an extension tube?

A: You can use this bellows with out a extension tube.

Q: 9. Can these bellows be mounted to a tripod head?

A: Yes the FotodioX Macro Bellows has a standard 1/4-20 tripod socket for mounting on a tripod.

Q: 10. What's the maximum useable lens diameter? Everything I own takes a 77 mm filter.

A: The diameter has no bearing, the lens mounts to the bellows via the rear mount.
