The black Porta-Brace CAR-2CAMQS Cargo Case Camera Edition M4 Quick-Slick Package is designed to fit Pro Video Cameras up to 16.5" long or a full DSLR camera kit. This rugged case features a semi-rigid, padded frame for maximum equipment protection, and is constructed using long-life materials, including 1000-denier Cordura nylon and solid steel clip rings. Reversed zippers and an anti-skid, waterproof bottom panel are used for increased water-resistance and durability.

Arrive at your venue ready to shoot, knowing that everything you need is packed, organized, and accessible. The 9.5" interior height allows for shoot-ready equipment configurations and the easy-open, quick-draw design means you'll never miss the shot. There are front and back slip pockets for carrying SD cards, documents, cords, and white balance cards. The two side pockets can carry batteries, extra flashes, and other necessities.

The interior of the case is made using a copper-colored Veltex that contrasts against camera and lenses for clear visibility of the case contents. Completely customize your interior setup using the positionable interior divider system, including a horizontal divider, a hanging mic pocket, one padded divider pouch, a 7" padded lens cup/storage pouch, a camera tie-down, and a divider camera "cradle". Q: 2. Does this rain cover allow for the LCD on a Sony HVR-V1 to be used?

A: There is a clear plastic cover on the left side of the rain cover. I have a similar camcorder (HDR-FX7) and if I had used the LCD screen it would have been difficult to see it. I highly recommend the cover though. It has saved me more then a few times during rain and snow. The way the cover surrounds the eyepiece there is no chance of moisture getting to the body of the camcorder.

Q: 3. Will this fit a Panasonic HPX 170?

A: The manufacturer recommends this one AG-HPX170. I would say that while it is more expensive, it will work where as the QS-M4 will probably not fit well.

Q: 5. Does this cover fit HVR-V1 with Sony wide angle (.8 ) lens adaptor? The lens shade is bigger than the normal lens shade.

A: I have used this successfully with an HDR-FX7. It also has the big, square lens hood. The rain cover has a padded, Velcro strap that allows you to adjust the strap for tightness.I have to say that I used this in wet, cold, rainy Europe and it saved the day. Well, worth the money I paid.

Q: 6. What are the dimensions?

A: The dimensions of the case are 21 x 8 x 10 and it weighs 6 pounds. The pouch is an accessory component that goes inside the case that can also be used separately. It is 18 x 11 wide at its narrowest point.

Q: 7. The SPECS tab says its interior dimensions is 24 long but the OVERVIEW tab says its designed for cameras up to 21.75 long. Which is it? Can you put a 23 long camera in it? Thanks

A: The interior dimensions on this unit are 24 , the reason Porta Brace recommends it for cameras that are 21.75 long is so that you can comfortably take it in and out of the case. You may be able to put a longer camera in the case, but it may not be as easy to put it and take it out, it could be a tight squeeze. The camBag 650 from camRade can hold a camera that is up to 25.6 long, it might be a better fit for you if your camera is 23 inches.

Q: 8. Does this meet Airline carry on bag dimensions?

A: Unfortunately it does not. Carry-On size tends to be 22 x 14 x 9" and this bag is well over that at 27.0 x 15.0 x 14.5".

We have Porta Brace cases for all our cameras! This case was specific for our JVC GY HM600 and works beautifully! We package our gear to house all the essentials we need for a shoot. This bag holds the camera, audio, headphones, power and all accessories needed for production. The quality is excellent and the shoulder strap is padded to provide comfort. There is an accessory pouch inside and the outside pockets provide additional storage! 5

I use this case for a DSLR (Canon 60D) rig with rails and a secondary, smaller camera (Canon EOS-M) rig. This case is much too large for those cameras, but I wanted it that way. Since I'm still building out my rig, I wanted a case that would be able to handle an evolving rig. I also wanted to be able to upgrade to larger cameras with my rig and this case can handle anything from a mid-sized DSLR rig to a midsize ENG cam. What is great about this bag is that it provides the protection of a Pelican case without the weight. I'm a somewhat skinny guy, but I can comfortably carry this large bag with all my needed camera gear with no gripes because of the strap, which spreads the weight very well. The quick-entry zipper and velcro combination is nice as well. One issue I can foresee with someone ordering this bag is they might not thoroughly consider the dimensions of their gear and be surprised by the sheer size of the bag. (It is a rather large when compared to other bags). But since I did my research and planning to ensure all the parts and pieces I intended to store in this bag fit well, I have no complaints. Another minor gripe is that I would have liked to have seen an extra divider or two come with the case to increase flexibility. Overall, if you are looking for a case for your mid-size cine rig or ENG cam, you will not be disappointed with this bag. 5
