The FP-DCC1 from RDL is a compact 12VDC To 24VDC power converter that allows you to power 24VDC devices with a 12VDC source. The compact metal design features ground-referenced terminal block and DC jack power outputs with 2 separate advantages. The DC jack and one terminal block are high-current outputs, while the other terminal block is a low-noise output. Both types of outputs may be used simultaneously.

The unit has built-in protection circuitry that automatically shuts the device down if an input voltage higher than 15VDC is detected. In the event of input overvoltage, the indicator LED will illuminate. The input and outputs are protected against excessive current and reverse voltages.

Q: 1. What I don't understand is the firmware update from June 2020. It states, "12-bit 4K ProRes RAW video to an Atomos Ninja V external recorder". But Ninja V only does 10-bit right?

A: The Atomos website states that the Ninja V records 12-bit ProRes RAW with supported cameras, and I'm happy to say that the Sigma fp is one of them!

Q: 2. Can you output to a recorder to record in ProRes Raw or another format where you can playback the recorded takes on-location? (instead of uploading to a computer and using DaVinci Resolve to convert CinemaDNG to a playable movie file).

A: This camera has a Clean HDMI output which you can use with Pro Res Recorders like the Atomos Ninja V. https://bhpho.to/2UjcbKq

Q: 3. Does the included 45mm lens allow for focusing by hand, or only through the motor?

A: Yes, this lens can be manually focused.

Q: 4. focus peaking

A: When the Sigma fp Mirrorless Camera is fully updated, it has focus peaking.

Q: 5. What about AF function compared with that of sony A7m3? Better or similar or much worse ?

A: At this time, there have been no tests that we're aware of regarding the AF functionality of this camera versus the A7 III.

Q: 6. It says there is a hot shoe for a flash, but I don't see it in any of the illustrations. What am I missing? Also, only 1/30 for a sync speed, really??!!

A: Hi, the top sync speed is 1/30 second. There is an adapter included that attaches to the left side of the camera and has a hot shoe for flash photography.

Q: 7. Do we have T and B mode in this camera?

A: While this camera does have a bulb mode that will close the shutter after 300 seconds, it does not offer a time exposure mode.

Q: 8. Can you record proxies on an Atomos recorder so you can play back the recorded takes on site?

A: This has a Clean HDMI output to go to an Atomos Recorder.

Q: 9. In the video, this camera is shot in the studio. How do they do this with the electronic shutter? The Sigma lens also does not have a mechanical shutter. Or I'm wrong? And is there or not, Bluetooth control or NFС, Wifi?

A: Flash Sync Speed 1/30 Second and sigma fp does not have wireless

Q: 10. Can the fp shoot stills tethered? I need the camera to save a jpg file directly to a folder on the hard drive of a computer.

A: Currently Sigma Capture Pro does not support the FP. Sigma Photo Pro supports the FP but is only for RAW processing.
