Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this work with the Sony A7iii with heavy lenses?

A: Yes. I use this strap on my Sony a7Riii.

Q: 2. can the Spider Camera Holster SpiderPro Single Camera System and Spider Camera Holster SpiderPro Hand Strap be used together? Or even with the tripod mount attached? Thanks!

A: Yes you can use SCS and Hand Strap together and I have the quick release plate on as well (at times) - prefer having camera on my hip vs neck.

Q: 3. Can I leave the L Plate in the camera or it must be taken out?

A: Yes we leave ours on the cameras all the time. It's handy for us as we shoot weddings and we dont have to continuously remove and put them back.

Q: 4. What is the load capacity of each individual holster? I see the Black Widow suggests a 1kg limit and the Single Camera System suggests it is For Pro Cameras 5 lb and Up but I have found no rating for the dual camera system. I'd like to know if this is a viable solution for high mobility while lugging around a couple heavy camera and super telephoto lens combinations.

A: Each individual holster for the SpiderPro Dual Camera System can hold pro-body DSLR and lens combinations of five pounds and up. When using the dual system, it is advised to keep a shorter lens on one of the bodies for optimal comfort. An alternative option to the Spider Holster System would be the Peak Design CapturePRO, which can withstand up to 200 pounds and is a quick release system that will attach to any belt or strap: http://bhpho.to/1cmLndX

Q: 5. Will this fit a Z9?

A: Yes, this will work with the Nikon Z9. This accommodates cameras with or without a battery grip; the Z9's size lines up with the former.

Q: 6. Would this work well with a Sony A7Rii? I saw one reply about an X-T1 working with it, but people seem to complain it is a bit big to be comfortable with a Nikon D600 which is bigger than a Sony A7/Fuji X-T1.

A: Hi Andrew,Thank you for your question. As you may know, the XT-1 has the shutter right atop on the camera body, which makes it very difficult for ANY hand strap to work.. The SONY shutter is more in-line with pro dslr in terms of shutter position, and so will benefit from that, as the Spider HS was designed for PRO bodies. We think the sony A7Rii should work with the current Spider strap especially using it's vertical grip (the cam body is very small for handling, as you most likely know already). Spider is working hard on a hand strap solution that will be designed specifically and will accommodate all mirrorless cameras. hope this helps, thank you, S

Q: 7. So, I hand strap in my cart... How stable is the strap without the Spider holster plate or a tripod quick connect plate? I really don't want to purchase the Spider plate, as I'm not planning to purchase the holster and I don't own a tripod so I don't need a tripod plate, regardless of how inexpensive you can get one,

A: It's fine. It comes with its own little screw that secures the bottom of the strap to the camera.

Q: 8. Can you use this with the spider pro hand strap attached? Is there room for the required washers?

A: Hi Michael - thank you. If you are using the Single Cam System there is no need to use the HS washers. The washers are there only if a user needs to use the SpiderPro HS by itself. In your case, the Hand Strap slot area engages UNDER the SpiderPro plate (sits in between the plate and the camera body) and will not require the extra hardware. Please make sure you watch the hand strap assembly video at a href= http://spiderholster.com target= _blank spiderholster.com/a - pay attention to HOW we suggest you pull the camera in and out of the holster (your hand is out of the HS when holstering) this is shown twice at the end of the video..All the very best to you - thank you for choosing Spider,BestS

Q: 9. Will this work with a Large Medium Format camera like my Leica S2 or something like a Pentax 645D?

A: I think it would work. I use it on a Nikon D850 with a battery grip which is quite large and it works great. I am sorry I can’t be more specific.

Q: 10. what's the difference between this version and the newer version 2?

A: Thank you Jacob - V2 is an updated Spider belt design (allows for quick adaptation to dual camera system when/if needed). Also including a newely designed SpiderPro plate with superior ergonomics. The new v2 Dual Camera System includes the Lens Collar Plate. For more information please visit spiderholster.com on the SpiderPro Single Camera System page there's a video that details the differences. Thank you, Spider Holster Team
