A: The bumper can be mounted atop filters, and also has filter threads on its outside to further mount filters to. If you mount filters on the lens before it, and wanted to swap them, it would require you remove the bumper also. A UV protection filter would be good to have on before the bumper because that is one you'd likely be leaving on all the time. If you were going to use temporary filters you could thereby easily mount them to the outside of the bumper.
