Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hello, do you sell the front cover and gear cover too? Thanks Regards Antonio

A: We do sell certain focus gears and other accessories to go with this port. Please reach out to our personnel by phone, chat, or email with specific information regarding the lens(es) with which you'd use those as they are lens-specific.

Q: 2. Does this work well with d7500. It's a DX body with a crop factor, so it will shoot a 52 mm. Other than the crop factor does the d7500 perform better with the 35 mm or the 50 mm? I'm look to do close up of plants and people.

A: The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G ED Lens and all FX lenses are compatible with the Nikon D7500. Both a 35mm and 50mm lens will preform well on the D7500. For close-ups of plants and people the crop factor will help you. For these subjects a 50mm lens is best.

Q: 3. This lens is capable of outfocus with the D5000?

A: yes, it has an internal af-s motor and will work and auto focus perfectly.

Q: 4. What is the difference between this lens and the other 35 mm1.8 G lens that is stound 250.00

A: I believe you are looking at the difference between the DX (crop sensor) and FX (Full Framework) price. The crop sensor versions are usually about half the price of the full frame versions. Unless you have a full frame camera, or thinking about getting one, get the DX version. It is always best to get the version of lens designed for your camera.

Q: 5. Is this a sharp lens for a D800?

A: Very sharp lens. I like it a lot. It shines from 2.8. For family / people i shoot at F2.8; nature at F8. The lens is just an instrument. Everybody is different and approach to record the moment of life is also different. I think 20mm 1.8, 35mm 1.8, and 70-200 f2.8 must have it. For nature, i use most of the time 35mm, than 16-35mm. Family and travel, 35 and 70-200.

Q: 6. What's the difference between (85mm+35mm) f1.8G and f1.8G ED

A: ED is low dispersion glass, it has better quality glass. Extra-low dispersion glass element is used in the optical construction to reduce a variety of chromatic aberrations and color fringing for a high degree of clarity and color neutrality.

Q: 7. Is the Len made in China / Thailand?

A: According to the information we have, our current inventory's Country of Origin is China. Please be aware this can change over the product's production life without notice.

Q: 8. I have a nikon d3300, will this lens work with it since it says FX format? Or will it not give a wide angle? In order to get a 35mm length should I get a smaller focal length or is there a 35mm that works with a DX?

A: All Nikon FX lenses are compatible for use on all Nikon DSLR cameras, both FX (full frame sensor) and DX (APS-C crop sensor) cameras alike. As such, the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G ED Lens would be compatible for use on the Nikon D3300 DSLR camera. As with all lenses used on the Nikon D3300, as it is an APS-C sensor camera with a 1.5x crop sensor, to find the full-frame equivalent of the lens when used on the camera, you must multiply the focal length of the lens by 1.5x. As such, the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G ED Lens would have the full-frame equivalent angle of view of a 52.5mm lens, as 35mm x 1.5 = 52.5mm. On the Nikon D3300 DSLR camera, it will appear as a standard lens, not a wide angle lens. You would need a lens with a focal length between 10mm-24mm to be considered wide angle on the Nikon D3300 DSLR camera. If you need a lens that has the full-frame equivalent of a 35mm lens, you would need a lens with a 24mm focal length, such as the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.8G ED Lens, B&H # NI2418GED, or if you do not mind focusing manually, the Nikon AF NIKKOR 24mm f/2.8D Lens, B&H # NI2428DAF, would also work.

Q: 9. is this lens compatible with Nikon Df camera?

A: Yes, it is compatible with Nikon Df and most Nikon reflex cameras.

Q: 10. Is the lens weather sealed?

A: This is a good question which I never use when purchasing lenses. I checked Nikon's website and there is no mention of weather sealed or rubber O-ring. I personally don't expose my camera to the rain or any water elements. If you are planning outdoor photography under harsh weather conditions, I will recommend a product that the manufacturer claims it can confront.

Was looking for a 35mm lens for a walk around lens. Was using my 24-70, but it is a heavy lens to carry around all day. This lens was perfect. Lightweight, sharp, and great price.
