Tiffen 30mm Circular Polarizer Filters - Light rays which are reflected become polarized. Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and changed by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun.

If you're out walking on a lovely day - in the mountains or at the beach - and you want to get a fabulous shot of a cloud-filled sky or make the water seem more saturated, then a polarizer is the way to go. This filter is the best way to make the clouds stand out, increase or decrease the saturation of the ocean or increase or decrease the reflection off the water. You can also use this filter when shooting into glass or windows since it will, again, either increase or decrease reflections.

If you're shooting black and white and want to simulate a threatening storm, try throwing on a #25 Red filter. The vista will take on the appearance of an imminent, ominous storm.

Along with a UV or Skylight Filter, a polarizing filter should be a part of everyone's gear bag. It can turn a run-of-the-mill image into a stunning, creative photo by increasing color saturation.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How bad is the Barrel Distortion at each focal length? The lens looks quite big so I guess the Barrel Distortion may be acceptable to professional cityscape photographers. I have been thinking about ordering it. Thank you very much.

A: This lens has significant barrel distortion, but it is easily and (in some cases) automatically corrected with photo software like Photoshop.

Q: 2. is there a focal length difference compared to 35mm if so what's the 35mm equivalent?

A: If used on Nikon Z6 or Z7 its true 14-30mm , if used on cropped sensor multiply by 1.5

Q: 3. When set up. How tall is this?

A: So I contacted the Manufacturer on this inquiry, and unfortunately they do not have this information. My sincere apologies.

Q: 4. Does this lens resist cold or hot well?

A: I went to Iceland in April and it was pretty cold. This lens was on the camera 90% of the time 2000 pics. The lens held up well against the cold and light rain. Be aware that I was using a rain cover to protect the lens and a6000 during significant down pour. I was little paranoid that one day I will wake up and see condensation on the inside but it never happened... Even when I didn't take extreme care to acclimate the lens when going from cold outside to warm inside. After 2 yrs it is still going well. Focus is smooth as ever and focus by wire mechanism is also very smooth.

Q: 5. Does it have weather sealing rubber ring at the mount?

A: Yes, the Hasselblad XCD 30mm f/3.5 Lens has a weather sealing rubber ring at the mount.

Q: 6. Does this lens extend upon focusing or is it fixed with internal focusing?

A: This lens does not extend as it's an internal focus prime lens.

Q: 7. Will the Nikon NC filter cause vignette at 14mm?

A: No, the Nikon Neutral Clear Filter (82mm) will not cause Vignetting on the Nikon NIKKOR Z 14-30mm f/4 S Lens, even at 14mm.

Q: 8. Can this lens be used with a Z50 as a 21-45 mm equivalent? I realize there would be no VR, and the lens would be large for the camera, but curious.

A: Yes, it will work with the Z50 and yes the focal length would be 21-45mm.

Q: 9. According to some reviews, CA is very strong in this lens, can anybody check this?

A: The lens is very new and there are not very many real life reviews.Till more reviews come out it is very hard to be sure but from the specifications and the small reviews that are out it seems to be a good lens with very little CA.

Q: 10. Are the tilt & shift function parallel or perpendicular to each other? Is is possible to change this easily?

A: The tilt and shift controls on the FUJIFILM GF 30mm f/5.6 T/S Lens can be positioned next to each other or at 90 degrees from each other.
