Capture wide shots of fish, coral, and other sea life at depths up to 200' with this AOI DLP-01 Underwater Glass Dome Port for Panasonic's Lumix G 8mm f/3.5 Fisheye lens. It is compatible with the OM-D series underwater camera housings from Olympus. The dome-shaped front element corrects for the size distortion that occurs underwater, which causes everything to look larger and closer. Designed especially for very wide-angle lenses like the 8mm, it enables you to reduce the amount of water between you and your subjects for clearer, more accurate images, while fitting more in the frame.

The front element is crafted from optical glass with an anti-reflection coating on the inner surface. The tulip-shaped dome shade blocks stray light to prevent lens flare, while also offering some added protection against impact and allowing the port to maintain a light weight. Built for durability, the port body is made from aluminum that has been hard anodized for resistance to corrosion.

Q: 4. Should I buy the 8 mm or the 7-14 zoom? I have the 12-35.

A: Lee,These two lenses that you mentioned are very different.Your choice have to be based on what do you expect from them. The 8mm has a very large angle of coverage but the lines will curve due to the fish eye construction. If you like the effect, no problem, because the lens are incredibly sharp and the image quality excelent. If you want a more flexible lens the 7-14 would be your choice, 114 degrees of coverage at 7mm and 75 degress at 14mm. But without the curved lines off the center. You should look for sample images of both lenses. Both lenses worth the price paid.Best regards,Marcelo.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with the Sony 12-24 f/2.8 lens?

A: According to their current lens port chart (dated June 2021), they do not have a specific dome for the Sony 12-24 f/2.8 listed. Contact Aquatech and/or see their reference chart here: https://bit.ly/3zPljdc

Q: 6. how to apply ND filtering to this lens?

A: I never applied filter to this lens. So I can't answer this question.

Q: 7. how do I add a blue water filter with this port?

A: There really is not a blue water filter for the Ikelite DC3 6" Dome for Sony Cyber-shot RX100 Mark VI Underwater Housings. The workaround is to get Rosco E-Colour+ #779 Pink (21 x 24") Sheet. This gel corrects the blue water color cast perfectly. You will need to cut it and tape it inside the dome. Here is the link: https://bhpho.to/2CTzrXF

Q: 8. Is the aperture also control by a step motor or it is manual only?

A: The aperture on this lens will not be controlled by the AF stepping motor, but you can choose to use an auto-aperture mode. This setting will allow for the camera to determine and apply the best aperture for correct exposure in a given scenario. Of course, you will also have the option of manually choosing your own aperture for creative effect.

Q: 10. What size gel filter does this len's filter holder use?

A: The Panasonic Lumix G Fisheye 8mm f/3.5 Lens is a fisheye lens. And like most do not have any filter threads. You can attach a gel filter on the back of the lens which is around 2.39 inches in diameter. So a 3 inch or larger will work and then you need to cut it down to size.

I'm amateur photographer and this is my 2nd lens for Lumix GX1. As expected with a fisheye lens, taking photo is fun and exciting. You see the world in different perspective and the image captured are clear and I use it mostly to take landscape picturs for now, no more need to stitch up panoramas this camera capture it all in one shot. But the lens is very big so dirt get on the lense easily and it is very difficult to clean. My dog licked the lense and I am unable to clean the lens ever since.

This is a fantastic lens! I'm a long time Canon shooter, and used most of wide-angles in Canon lineup over the years. None of them had a wow factor in sharpness this little guy has. Chromatic abberations are non-existant, and flare is well-controlled. Couple this with a tiny size, and this lens is a winner! A lot more spherical panoramas are in my future...

I use this lens for just about any subject. In extreme close up photos (flowers) I try to use the distortion to enhance the subject while shooting landscapes I can make the distortion almost invisible in some ways. The distortion won't be gone but like a magician use misdirection to draw the viewers eye away from the distortion. This lens images can also be de-fished with software to eliminate the distortion be keep the ultra wide perspective. The autofocus allows me to change my field of view and keep my subject tack sharp. This is a lens for a visual adventure!
