The Countryman E6s Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation. The compact size and placement just in front of the ear make this microphone particularly well-suited for intimate theater and broadcast applications, or any use where low mic visibility is a key factor.

The omnidirectional pickup pattern provides a generous and forgiving pickup area around the perimeter of the capsule, while the stainless steel construction stands up to daily use, makeup, and sweat. The mic also comes with 3 different interchangeable caps that let you choose between a flat, bright, or very bright frequency response.

This version of the E6s is black and comes with a 2mm diameter Duramax cable. It terminates to a 6-pin Lemo connector for use with Audio Limited wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it use the same batteries as the A7iii?

A: Yes, both cameras use the NP-FZ100 battery.

Q: 2. Will this camera have the same automatic noise reduction as the A7SIII?

A: Sony hasn't specified this, but since the sensors between the a7 IV and the a7S III are different it's likely it won't be exactly the same function or results between the two cameras. Like other a7-series cameras, the a7 IV does have configurable noise reduction features for long exposures and high ISO settings.

Q: 3. Does this camera include a lens hood ? If not what do we order?

A: The RX1R-II does not come with a lens hood, however, you can purchase the additional Sony LHP-1 lens hood for this camera.

Q: 4. Is this mic suitable for capturing bird calls outdoors and, if so, what would be its useful range?

A: The Rode VideoMic NTG Hybrid Shotgun Microphone can be used for capturing bird calls outdoors. The optimum operating distance will vary depending on the environment. The mic is very directional and it is designed to pick up sounds from directly in front. In a quiet environment it will do a better job of picking up sounds that are further away. If there is a fair amount of noise in the background, you will be able to focus in on the sounds that are up to about 6 feet away most clearly. A good way to estimate what the mic will pick up is to use your ears and if your ears can hear the sound clearly, the mic should be able to hear similarly when pointed in that direction. If your camera has a headphone output you can use headphones to monitor the audio while recording.

Q: 5. Are there any reports of it overheating while taking photos, or just 4K video?

A: I have not heard reports of the Sony A7iv overheating while taking photos.

Q: 6. 4k 60p only with crop?

A: Correct, 4K60p is only available from a Super 35 recording area. Up to 4K30p is possible using the full-frame area (with full pixel readout and 7K oversampling).

Q: 7. Is it possible to use a standard cell phone power bank to charge A7 IV battery via USB-C conector when we are in the field?

A: Yes this is possible, the power may or may be enough power to allow the camera to run. we suggest using external power sources such as dummy battery or d-tap into v-mount batteries. See https://bhpho.to/3usYKdX and https://bhpho.to/3R5nX7M.

Q: 8. Does this camera have an AA filter?

A: The Sony a7 IV Mirrorless Camera does not have an AA (Anti-aliasing filter).

Q: 9. Is a third party L-plate (e.g. by Really Right Stuff) used on the Mark I model compatible with the Mark II?

A: At this moment RRS does not list that it is compatible and we do not carry one that is specific for the model camera. But there are universal L brackets that should work. They are listed below.

Q: 10. Can I use a metabones and some Canon lenses on the A7IV with a Metabones? Will I lose any functionality of the camera or lens or quality?

A: Yes you can use a Metabones adapter and Canon EF lens in this camera. The adapter does reduce focus speed, even though autofocus still works with certain lenses, focus speed and a lot of autofocus functionality does not work as good as in a native lens.
