The Countryman E6s Omnidirectional Microphone is a miniature earset microphone for virtually invisible operation. The compact size and placement just in front of the ear make this microphone particularly well-suited for intimate theater and broadcast applications, or any use where low mic visibility is a key factor.

The omnidirectional pickup pattern provides a generous and forgiving pickup area around the perimeter of the capsule, while the stainless steel construction stands up to daily use, makeup, and sweat. The mic also comes with 3 different interchangeable caps that let you choose between a flat, bright, or very bright frequency response.

This version of the E6s is black and comes with a 1mm diameter cable. It terminates to a 4-pin Hirose connector for use with specific* Audio-Technica wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it matter if you use USB 2.0, 3.0, or 3.1?

A: The Rode VideoMic NTG Hybrid Analog/USB Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone is functional for use with all current USB generation connections.

Q: 2. I use many Rode products and love them. I have the VideoMic NTG and wonder if there is a work around so that I can monitor my video recordings from my Sony 6400 camera. The camera does not have a headphone jack for this and the NTG doesn't have one either for monitoring video recording. Is there perhaps a two out jack where headphones can be plugged into one of the outs and the recording into the camera in the other one? This would be the final thing to make the NTG a mic that can be used by filmmakers.

A: In the scenario described, because the camera does not have a headphone jack, there is no real way to monitor audio recorded into the Sony a6400 Mirrorless Camera from the Rode VideoMic NTG Hybrid Analog/USB Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone, or any microphone for that matter. Because the connection on the camera is input only, a splitter type adapter would not function to provide a headphone output connection.

Q: 3. Is it possible to use a standard cell phone power bank to charge A7 IV battery via USB-C conector when we are in the field?

A: Yes this is possible, the power may or may be enough power to allow the camera to run. we suggest using external power sources such as dummy battery or d-tap into v-mount batteries. See https://bhpho.to/3usYKdX and https://bhpho.to/3R5nX7M.

Q: 4. What is the maximum size of memory card which this camera can accept?

A: No idea the maximum but I use four 64 gig cards one after the other. That's a lot of pictures and I haven't had a single failure in 4 months of shooting. It's not smart to put all your pix on one card. Its a recipe for disaster.

Q: 5. Focus stacking on Sony a7 I've?

A: Unfortunately the Sony A7iv does not have focus stacking in camera.

Q: 6. Will the Sony FDA-EVM1K Electronic Viewfinder (for RX1) work on this camera?

A: The RX1R II has a built in viewfinder.

Q: 7. Any info on weather sealing?

A: According to Sony, the a7 IV has improved dust and moisture resistance with more seals (compared to the a7 III) at body seams and by the battery compartment cover, as well as a redesigned lens lock button.

Q: 8. Has this camera BULB position when working in manual mode, or the top is 30 seconds exposure?

A: Yes, there is bulb mode on this camera.

Q: 9. This is not a mirrorless camera, correct?

A: Yes. It is a mirrorless camera. It uses an electronic viewfinder.

Q: 10. Are there any reports of it overheating while taking photos, or just 4K video?

A: I have not heard reports of the Sony A7iv overheating while taking photos.
