As the core component within a modular system, this view camera body serves as the primary piece from which you can pair Canon EF mount DSLRs with a variety of lenses to reap the benefits of geared camera movements for correcting perspective distortions, achieving an extended depth of field, or producing creative selective focus effects. This view camera body is delivered with a 6.1" monorail as well as a 4.9" bellows to permit working with a variety of lens and camera types. The monorail is designed to fit within the Arca-Swiss style quick release system for easy mounting to a tripod, and is also fitted with both 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 mounts for attaching quick release plates. Optional lensplates can be added depending on your desired lens type, and the monorail and bellows is also interchangeable with optional wide-angle and longer versions of each. A full system of movements offers extensive control over perspective and focusing settings. Geared on-axis tilt and swing movements are performed on the front standard and the rear standard permits geared rise/fall movements and quick slide shift movements:

Q: 1. I would like to use the Cambo B-4 with a Nikon Z7 Mirrorless Camera to photograph architecture. What lenses would I need to have infinity focus and have the whole sensor of the camera covered? Thanks

A: If you’d like to use a mirrorless Nikon on the Actus, you need the Actus-G combined with Nikon Z bayonet. The Actus-B4 is for use with Nikon DSLR cameras. The Actar-24 is designed to cover the full sensor and more. You’ll have 10mm of shift to both sides. Physically more, but beyond 10 the quality deteriorates. The Actar-35 is also a good option, but this lens is a retrofit, meaning the client needs to send in his lens to us and we rebuild it. Nikon F lenses can also be used on the Actus/Nikon-Z combination. There won’t be any limitations in focussing to infinity, but in general the image circle of these lenses is too small to be of any use.

Q: 2. Hello. I own two DSLR bodies, a Canon Rebel SL1 with APS-C sensor and a Nikon D800 with a full-frame sensor. I also have a large array of Nikkor full-frame lenses. May I use the Actus-B2 with Canon EF mount to pair the APS-C Rebel SL1 with a full-frame Nikkor lens to provide a greater circle of coverage for view camera movements? Thank you very much.

A: This will not enable the use of Nikon lenses on an EF body; the purpose of this device is to use DSLR lenses effectively as a view camera (large format). You can instead use an adapter.

Q: 3. Would a Full Frame Canon lens be enough coverage for a super 35/ APS-C sensor size?

A: A Canon lens designed for a full-frame sensor will cover an APS-C size sensor.

Q: 4. Will this work with the Canon 6D? and will it work with my EF lenses, or would I have to purchase different lenses?

A: This Bayonet Mount kit would also be compatible with the Canon 6D. The Lensplates/mounts are sold separately, so you would need to purchase a Lensplate to use the Cambo ACTUS-B2. That being said, there is a Canon EF Lensplate, so you would be able to use your Canon EF lenses.

Q: 5. Would this system work with my mirrorless EOS R? I still shoot EF via an adapter, but not sure that would affect the function.

A: If you are using the Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R on the Canon EOS R Mirrorless Camera, you can mount your setup directly on the Cambo ACTUS-B2 View Camera Body with Canon EF Bayonet Mount Kit (Black) without issue.

Q: 6. What's the minimum distance between the front and rear standard? Thanks.

A: The manufacture does not list the minimum distance the standards can be from each other. Technically it is very close but with depending on the lens you use you will never go to the minimum distance.

A: Yes, this is compatible with the Canon 5DS R.

Q: 8. Is there a lens plate that accepts Sony E mount lenses available for ACTUS available?

A: At this time there is not any way to mount Sony-E lenses on the Actus platform.

A: Cambo kits like the Cambo ACTUS-B2 View Camera Body with Canon EF Bayonet Mount Kit (Black) are only designed to be used with matching lens and camera: the Nikon version only works with a Nikon F camera and a Nikon f-mount lens.
