The Benro BV6 Video Head is designed for use with 75mm bowl tripods and supports loads up to 13.2 pounds. Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have a Sony Fs-5 I use for filming hunts on a tree arm. I have all manfrattos now. But I like the it ways less than the others. Will this work out?

A: If you can keep the total load of the FS5 to under 8.8 pounds, which should not be an issue as it is already a small camera, this head will work very nice with it. It also has a standard 3/8 connection on the bottom of it that will integrate with Manfrotto products. It should work out well for you.

Q: 2. Does anyone use this with a canon 5D mark II? If so, how is it?

A: This should be just about right for the 5D Mark II and lens. That combination can be 4-8 lbs. and should be a sweet spot for the head. Reports are that it works well with much lighter cameras such as the Sony NEX 7 with success. Just be aware that while The S6 has adjustable counterbalance, tilt drag adjustment and pan/tilt locks, there is no pan drag adjustment. All in all however, you do get a lot of video head for the money.

Q: 3. Is this an actual FLUID head or is it friction based?

A: This is a fluid head tripod.

Q: 4. Is this an actual FLUID head of is it friction based?

A: This is a fluid head tripod.

Q: 5. So i'm guessing the bag that it cos with doesn't hold the tripod? Is that correct?

A: The Cineluxe Roller 21 Case included in this kit will not hold the tripod. However the tripod itself comes with its own Deluxe Carry Case,

Q: 6. What is the tripod legs in this kit? Is it the same tripod legs in the BV8?

A: The Benro BV6 Pro Video Tripod and the Benro BV8 Twin-Leg Aluminum Tripod share the same tripod. The difference is in the weight capacities of the video heads. BV6 13.2 lb./ 5.9 kg. BV8 17.6 lb / 8kg.

Q: 7. I have read in the BV6's description that the 75mm bowl can be removed to become a flat base to use on sliders. However, I can't seem to find any instructions anywhere on how to do this, and there doesn't seem to be an easy way to just remove the ballhead. Is there a solution to this?

A: There is a removable tie-down stud to convert the Benro BV6 Pro Video Tripod Kit to a flat base head.

Q: 8. Can it carry with ease the D810 with 24-70mm f2.8 VR lense and Follow Focus with 2 15mm rod?

A: The Nikon D810 weighs abut 2 lbs and the NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR Lens weighs 2.5 lbs. A 15mm LWS and follow focus depends on the models involved. However, 3-4 lbs would be about right. So a max of about 8.5 lbs would not tax the S6 max of 13.2 lbs capacity.

Q: 9. What are the dimensions of the quick release plate for the Benro S2H Head?

A: The Benro S2H Hybrid Video/Stills Head uses the Induro PU5060 plate. That plate is a 50 x 60mm oversized Arca-Swiss style universal quick release plate with a 1/4 -20 mounting screw.

Q: 10. Max height?

A: The BV6's height range is 31.7 to 63 / 80.5 to 160 cm. So you are looking at a max height of 63 .

I have a few different camera setups I use in all my work and this thing works perfectly! From my heavier rigs to just a dslr setup it is great. Love this kit and have used it on every shoot since I have got it. Everything works very smoothly which has been a blessing compared to some kits and being able to quickly adjust the spreader and height with ease! I have had quite a few high end tripods in use and this is now my go-to kit. It is built tough and very precise, love all the adjustments and location of all the knobs to adjust very quickly. Feels lighter than my other sticks and gotta say...it looks great to! The black and highlighted blue featured knobs and feet look pretty cool. Comes with a very nice bag and really happy about this model and its features and will be used a ton to shoot with. So if your looking for a great deal compared to other kits at this level and well above that charge a heck of a lot more, look no further for an overall great piece of kit!

In my world of covering national news & traveling every where my gear must be sturdy, functional and efficient. My Benro BV6 tripod is all of these things. The lightweight aluminum makes it easy to carry. After three straight weeks in three different venues of news I found the tripod is easy and fast to set up especially with medium to smaller cameras like my C300.Very Happy With it. This tripos is great. The fluid head has many adjustable settings so you can change the speed at which it pans/tilts/etc. It is super sturdy and super easy to adjust everything. The salesman I talked to encouraged me to get this instead of another one I was looking at and I'm so glad I spent the extra $100 because this is very nice. Do yourself a favor and get a good tripod!

I have been using this tripod for about three weeks now. I have used it mainly with a Canon C-300 Mark I and Mark II as well as Canon 6D. I can say without a doubt, it is the best tripod for the dollar that I have had. Our production company shoots; network news, network magazine shows, corporate internal videos as well as Pay-Per-View feature segments. We have a number of high-end tripods that cost 3 times what this Benro cost, and perform exactly the same. The BV6 is a perfect fit for our C-300 workflow. The fluid head is smooth with no bumps, which has been an issue for us in the past with tripods in this price point. The counterbalance has enough steps that match perfect with the C-300. All in all it's been a great tripod addition to my kit, especially for the price. A couple cool things I noticed, the additional plate screws mounted under the top of the head, and additional mounting threads on the side of the head to mount magic arms for monitors or additional recorders, the bubble level also has a battery powered led light. The mid-level spreader works really well and fast for adjusting the width of the legs in tight spaces.

These sticks are very impressive for the price range. They have features and design right up there with carbon fiber Sachtler, Miller, and Vinten. I'd guess as Benro continues to make its' mark, the prices will go up, so it's great to buy while they still aren't one of the big names. I'm extremely pleased so far, with my 'norm' more in the $3000 range for other tripod systems I've used.

I first saw the BV6 in Vegas, at NAB, while searching for a tripod that would be a good fit for my Sony FS7. I do a lot of stock and location work and traveling with a high-end Sachlter or Vinten can be a pain. I needed something smaller and lighter that would still give me decent production value. The Benro was about a hundred bucks cheaper than the Sachtler Ace and it had similar features, greater weight capacity and considering B&H's return policy, it was worth taking a chance. Well I'm glad I did. The tripod is well built and professional looking. The movements are very smooth with plenty of controls for tilt, pan and balance. It also has a mid-level spreader that locks in any position, making it perfect for tight shooting areas like on the red carpet. I've been using it on a daily basis and it's an excellent match for the FS7.

Exactly what I said. Been using this for almost ten years now and still working as good as that day I got it.
