Samyang 50mm F/1.4 As Umc Lens For Pentax K
- Product Code: ga24959
-
Utilizing a "normal" field of view and a fast f/1.4 maximum aperture, the 50mm f/1.4 AS UMC Lens for Pentax K from Samyang is optimized for effective low light shooting, fast shutter speed capture and shallow depth of field control. When used on cameras with a ASP-C format sensor its 35mm focal length equivalence is 75mm.
The optical design of the lens consists of 9 elements in 6 groups including one hybrid aspherical element and one aspherical element to reduce chromatic aberrations. Also, lens elements are coated with an Ultra Multi-Coating to improve light transmission and minimize flare and ghosting. Eight diaphragm blades create a circular aperture for more attractive out-of-focus highlights.
As a manual focus and manual aperture lens, it provides a rubberized focus ring and clear aperture, distance and depth of field markings. Additionally, an included petal-shaped lens hood blocks unwanted light and protects the lens.

Q: 1. How would focusing work with a D3300, would a light come on when it was in focus, or something? Thanks
A: As the Samyang 35mm f/1.4 AS UMC Lens for Nikon F (AE Chip) has an AE microprocessor that enables the camera to electronically confirm focus as well as permit camera-based control over exposure settings, when focusing the lens manually and looking through the viewfinder, the green focus confirmation LED in the viewfinder will illuminate when the subject on your selected focus point is in focus.
Q: 2. Will this lens fit and work with my Nikon D5200 ?
A: Yes it will. It is a full crame lens. It will work as 50mm on fx bodies and as 75mm on dx bodies such as d5200. Note that the version t1.5 is a cinematography lens. If you need it for photography you should get f1.2 version.
Q: 3. Is it compatible to Canon T3i?
A: Yes this Samyang 50mm f/1.4 AS UMC Lens for Canon EF is compatible with the Canon T3i.
Q: 4. What is the difference between this Samyang 50mm f/1.4 AS UMC Lens for Sony E an the same one but it is AF?
A: These are both manual focus lenses and are essentially identical for they are made by the same company in the same factory. The Rokinon is a little nicer finished and probably has a better brand name resale value.
Q: 5. Is it compatible with T3i?
A: This Version of the Samyang 35mm f/1.4 is designed for Nikon cameras; it would not be compatible with the T3i. For Canon cameras, you would need the version of this lens with the Canon mount.http://bhpho.to/UhdqJE

Q: 8. Is this lens compatible with the K1000?
A: The Pentax HD PENTAX-FA 50mm f/1.4 Lens is compatible with the Pentax K1000 Film Camera,
Q: 9. How does this compare to the 50mm f 1.4 lens (SY50M-E) besides the unclicked aperture?
A: If you are doing video and particularly if you have a focus puller, you want this lens. Much needed features of a video lens besides the de-clicked aperture is the geared rings for a mechanical interface with manual or motorized controls plus horizontal focus and aperture scales for easy reading by the camera assistant. The 50mm f 1.4 lens (SY50M-E) is a still photo lens thus does not need these features.
Q: 10. What's the difference between this one and Rokinon 50? Because the price is 150 off
A: Both this Samyang lens and the Rokinon 50mm T1.5 (B&H # RO5015TC) are made by Samyang Optics in Korea and are both the same exact lens. Rokinon is a private distributor of Samyang here in the US Market. Going with the lesser priced Samyang lens is a great choice.
