Your true focal distance at the widest is 36mm with a DX camera, but for landscapes that isn't really a huge limitation vs the 21mm Zeiss or even 14-24mm Nikkor. Assuming you are shooting vast wide open landscapes this is an excellent lens to grow into as you explore FX down the road and gains some reach with your current DX setup.
