A: It is up to the video application you are using to record with to provide the available recording codecs. Not all video applications support ProRes and DNxHD for recording. This works, but it is a pain to have to use 2 different programs, where I cannot Capture it directly into Adobe Premiere 5 (it only has DV Or HDV, it does Not have BlackMagic in the Capture Format list).
