Presenting an impressively unique 180° angle of view, the Nikon F-mount Sigma 8mm f/3.5 EX DG Circular Fisheye is a creative tool for producing dramatically distorted, circular imagery. Benefitting the unique look of the lens is an advanced optical design that utilizes one SLD glass element to reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations for improved clarity. A Super Multi Coating has also been applied to suppress lens flare and ghosting for greater contrast and color accuracy. Additionally, the lens also features a close 5.3" minimum focusing distance of 5.3", along with a 1:4.6 maximum magnification ratio, to suit working with close-up subjects.

Circular fisheye lens is designed for FX-format Nikon F-mount cameras, however can also be used with DX models where it provides a 12mm equivalent focal length.

Expansive 180° angle of view pairs with the fisheye design to render circular imagery within a black frame. This design also renders scenes with exaggerated distortion and curved lines for a creative, distinct aesthetic.

One SLD glass element is featured in the optical design to reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing for improved clarity and color accuracy.

Super Multi-Layer Coating has been applied to individual elements to suppress flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color when working in strong lighting conditions.

Minimum focusing distance of 5.3" pairs with a 1:4.6 maximum magnification ratio for creating unique close-up imagery.

Rear slot accepts cut gelatin-type filters.

This Nikon F-mount version does not feature a built-in autofocus motor and is not compatible with select Nikon DSLRs lacking an AF motor, such as the D40, D40x, D60, D3000-series, and D5000-series cameras.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this lens with the Canon EOS 6D?

A: No. It's built for a APS-C sensor. The 6D is full-frame. It will mount but you will see a huge black vignette around the frame.

Q: 2. I have an older Nikon (D70)as well as a newer (D5100). My older lenses work on my D5100 with the exception of the Auto Focus due to the new design of the motor drive or location. Will this lens mount on the either camera and will the functions be typical? Thanks!

A: This lens will mount on both of your camera bodies, however there is no autofocus on this lens. You will still be able to use functions such as auto exposure and focus confirmation.

Q: 3. I do a lot of realestate photography and want to use this lens for the interior shots. I shoot with Nikon 3200. will this be a good match for what i need it for as well as camera i use?

A: Yes, But be aware that the fish eye does make your image rounded. If you want an exact capture this won't work because it changes the form. However, the fish eye WILL cover more area due to the wider lens.

Q: 4. Can I put a filter on this lens? If so, what mm?

A: Unfortunately, the Rokinon 8mm f/3.5 fisheye does not have a front filter thread, nor is there a filter holder on the market for this lens I am aware of. So, you could not use filters with this lens.

Q: 5. will it fit on nikon d3400?

A: I used this lense on d3300 for months and it was a great addition to the camera. It worked very well for my skateboarding shots of friends. Hope this helps

Q: 6. Will this work on d3500?

A: I am using it on a D5300 so it will probably work on a D3500 too. In my tests it seems very sharp for an economical lens.

Q: 7. is the lens hood removable?

A: Yes, it is

Q: 8. Does the hood come off?

A: No the hood is not removable

Q: 9. Would this lens be compatible with my Nikon D7000?

A: Yes. It fits perfectly. I have the same Nikon D7000.

Q: 10. When used on FX body, will the circular image have a crisp border which would not require the use of PS or similar, or is PS or similar needed to sharpen the edge of the image?

A: When using the Rokinon 8mm Ultra Wide Angle f/3.5 Fisheye Lens for Nikon w/Focus Confirm Chip on a FX camera one will not get a circular image. This lens is designed for DX cameras and the non-removable hood is visible in the image when shot on FX.
