Q: 1. Which one is better for Astrophotography for planets, the ASTROMASTER 130EQ or the ASTROMASTER 90EQ for detail and resolution?

A: For planetary viewing, I would go for the 90EQ. The added focal length helps a bit. With my 130EQ, a 2x Barlow, and an 8-24mm zoom eyepiece, I can see Saturn pretty clearly, but the 90EQ (which I also just acquired) has the extra magnification factor to bring it closer. It's noticeably dimmer with the 90EQ, but still visible. With that said, if your going to do ANYTHING other than planetary, the 130EQ wins every time! Just as cubic inches is king in drag racing, aperture is king in astronomy!

Q: 2. Does this come with a batter charger or AC adapter?

A: There is a battery holder inside the battery compartment that uses 8-AA batteries (user supplied). An external portable power pack and AC adapter are optional accessories.

A: Yes. To adjust the laser sighting device I used a bush on top of a rock outcropping 2 miles across the valley. I was able to view individual leaves. Viewing numbers on license plates a few hundred yards would be easier.
