Q: 6. I've got a Marlin 80 and it has two groups of holes - one for the front and the other for the rear mounts. The distance between holes for the rear mount is different to the distance between holes at the front. Will this product fit both front and rear parts?

A: You'll need to take the Marlin 80 to a gunsmith for tapping if you use a top mounted scope (and then the #12 is what's listed on the chart). The rear holes you mention were for an optional factory installed rear peep sight. Alternatively, you can use the side mounted base (Weaver #2), reportedly without needing to visit the gunsmith, though I can't confirm that.

This fit very well into the Remington 597 default receiver. Simply unscrew the 3 existing screws and use the provided screws to mount it. The picture shows 4 slots, but only 3 screws are used and needed. The weaver amount covers about 80 - 90% of the existing Dovetail mount. Not a huge issue, but something to note. Overall, happy with purchase. Finally, Weaver amount is compatible with a lot of Pictatinny accessories, but not all of them. I had a Red Dot for Picatinny that was able to be mounted. However, the Red Dot had a Picatinny multislot riser that I couldn't use on this Weaver Mount, due to the differences in the width and spacing of the slots. I guess Single slot accessories are more cross compatible than others. 5

EXACTLY WHAT I ORDERED, FITS LIKE A GLOVE, GOT HERE QUICKLY, INSTALLED AND CHECKED OUT OK. NO PROBLEMS, BY THE WAY, THE ACTION WAS MFG IN 1937, 7mm, CUSTOMIZED 1965. STILL SMOOTH AS GLASS. THANX 5

Wanted to fit a pistol scope to my air pistol, this turned out to be perfect. I don't like to use knobs for tightening. These Hawke mounts are fixed with hex screws. Much better. 5

Allows for a much more secure mounting of optics. The original grooves in the receiver didn't allow for much purchase of the claws. This rail uses conventional rings for very secure mounting. And it came with the screws!!! 5
