The Tiffen 62mm Skylight 1-A Wide Angle Mount Filter is a general use filter with a slight pink tint to help improve overall color accuracy and clarity. The light pink coloration helps to reduce the overall bluish cast of daylight and is especially effective when photographing landscapes and in shade.

The Sky 1A filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

This filter features a slimmer profile mounting ring, which is ideal for use with wide angle lenses. It does not have front filter threads for stacking filters.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Q: 4. I'd like to use this lens for video purposes on a full frame a7s but I'm worried about extremely noticeable vignetting wide open. With the video settings at 24 fps and a shutter speed of 1/40th (or 1/50th), will the image have to much vignette wide open?

A: the original screw mount version has a lot of vignetting. This one has very little. the newer sony mount versions should be even better.

Q: 6. Both reviews praise the sharpness of this lens but both gave only 4 stars. What are the negatives? Than you !

A: I'd be hard pressed to find negatives...maybe that it's not perfect and 5 is perfect. It has vignetting, it's manual focus, its weighty and has a small maximum aperture. I'm using it on a Sony a7ii and it's a treat. Gorgeous image, beautiful build, nice balance. The aperture ring is smooth and positive. Oh, the fixed hood is slightly awkward.
