The cocoa E6i (4-Pin Lemo) from Countryman is a miniature, omnidirectional, earset condenser microphone designed for accurate voice reproduction (speaking and singing) and near-invisible appearance in theater, concerts, lectures, houses or worship, and more. It features a water- and wind-resistant capsule that delivers a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. The omnidirectional polar pattern picks up sound from all directions and should be used when feedback is not common.

The 5’ detachable cable has a diameter of 1mm, and features a 4-pin Lemo connector for compatibility with Telex transmitters. The E6i offers a flexible boom for versatile placement. The three protective caps yield different high-end frequency presence. The supplied windscreen protects the condenser element, and reduces plosives and wind noise. Cable clips and a carrying case are included.

A miniature omnidirectional capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame with silicon ear section. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin. For more information on which color earset suits you best, refer to the Countryman support page.

The included 1mm diameter cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters.

The omnidirectional polar pattern is most effective in minimizing wind noise, plosives (popping) and handling noise. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning while minimizing off-axis noise. The E6i is also available in a cardioid version for maximum off-axis noise rejection in environments with high feedback and noise.

This E6i sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture both speech and vocal performances without noise and distortion.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the Alpha 71V have a grid that can be displayed in the view finder for composition and alignment?

A: Yes, the A7IV has a few grid options for both the LCD and viewfinder. These options include a "rule of thirds" (3 x 3 squares), square grid (6 x 4 squares), diagonal + square (6 x 4 with an X diagonal over the whole screen).

Q: 2. A7iv or a7v

A: I believe you are referring to the A7RV vs the A7IV. The A7IV is a better hybrid photo and video camera, but the A7RV is a better photo camera. So if you take primarily photos with video on the side the A7RV is better, but if you are taking photos and video equally, the A7IV is better.

Q: 3. Does it have the variable frame rate that goes up to 240P in HD mode like A7S III at 111MB 4:2:2 10bit at 111mb and 50mb bit rate?

A: If you want to record in Full HD (1920x1080) on the Sony a7 IV Mirrorless Camera (B&H# SOA74) then these are the available options: XAVC S 4:2:0 8-Bit 23.98p/25p/29.97p/50p/59.94p/100p/119.88p Unfortunately, 240p is not available .

Q: 4. Is there a wide angle converter that will work with this camera?

A: There is no Sony wide angle converter for this camera.

Q: 5. What is the shutter life expectancy?

A: Unfortunately Sony has not published official numbers for the shutter life expectancy and this camera yet.

Q: 6. What is Digital Image Stabilization? How does it compare with the 5 point of the A7R Mk2, please?

A: It only has Electronic SteadyShot for Movie recording, so it wouldn't compare at all to the in-body 5-axxis system on the A7.

Q: 7. Is the body shell made of magnesium or is the back half plastic like the a7iii?

A: Sony states that magnesium alloy is used for the top cover, front cover, and internal frame of the camera.

Q: 8. Does this camera have smile shutter? I used that feature often with my a6400, but its missing from my A7C. Hoping they put it back for A7iv...

A: The Sony Alpha a7 IV Mirrorless Digital Camera does not have the Smile Shutter feature.

Q: 9. what is the fastest the camera can write/read an SDXC card for still pics? The 280 mb/s is about double the $ over the 95 mb/s card. Anyone know?

A: The manufactures do not list how fast it actually records an image or video to a card.It is a fast camera but most cameras today will not see that speed card. And the 280 MB/s card is UHS 2 and that camera and most are compatible with UHS 1. So that would not be a card I would use in the camera. For still photos the 95 MB/s is fine. In general you do want to use the fastest card for video. That helps prevent issues and corruption while recording video which is a lot of data.

Q: 10. Is this camera water resistant?

A: According to Sony, the a7 IV has improved dust and moisture resistance with more seals (compared to the a7 III) at body seams and by the battery compartment cover, as well as a redesigned lens lock button.
