The Countryman E6i Cardioid Microphone is a miniature ear-set microphone for virtually invisible operation in stage performances, trade shows, houses-of-worship, auctions, lectures and much more.

The cardioid version effectively minimizes off-axis feedback and noise from nearby monitor speakers, instruments and noisy sources. Flexible microphone positioning is maintained and the included windscreen minimizes the wind noise often associated with cardioid microphones.

The E6i is set apart from the original E6 with its softer flexible boom and silicon ear-pads. The flexible boom provides ease of boom adjustability to accommodate multi-user applications.

A wide variety of colors and connections are available for use with various wireless transmitters. This version is tan and features a 6-pin Hirose connector for use with Samson wireless transmitters.

A miniature cardioid capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters.

The cardioid polar pattern is effective in minimizing off-axis residual noise from e nearby monitor speakers, instruments and loud sources. The result is increased signal-to-noise ratio and minimal feedback. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning. The E6i is also available in an omnidirectional version for maximum control over wind noise and plosives (popping).

This E6i's sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture strong vocals without noise and distortion. The high headroom is well suited for singers and performers in stage and broadcast applications.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the piece for the use in vertical position be removed without removing the entire plate? I know that you can remove the piece and use horizontal but I would rather not have to take the entire plate off to remove the vertical section.

A: Yes, there is one screw to remove at the bottom and second screw on the side just to loose it. Thus, there is no need to remove the whole thing.

Q: 2. The screw they show going through the neck strap hole into the top of the vertical portion of the L-bracket... where do you get that tiny screw?

A: It comes with the L-bracket, in a small bag with a Ziploc closure along with the other screws, if I recall correctly. It is small (tiny is an accurate description).

Q: 3. Will this grip fit a non-nikon battery grip? For Example, the Vello version of the D850 battery grip that is $300 cheaper?

A: Yes, it should fit, I have a third party grip by Meike and it secures perfectly to it including the part where it wraps around the bottom and is the right height for the screw to reach the top screwhole

Q: 4. Since this is an Arca Swiss compatible, does it mean that i can use this L-Plate with other Arca Swiss ball head such as the 3 Legged Thing Airhed 360?

A: Arca Swiss is not an international standard so we cannot guarantee performance of this combination. However can offer some observations. Most likely you will be fine since the 3 Legged Thing has a screw clamp: it is the lever clamp that sometimes in the past has caused problems. In the end the answer will be you testing the set-up. If it is good and solid and you like it; you are good to go. If not, do not use it.

Q: 5. How long is the back order on this bracket? I placed my order several weeks ago and havent received any updates

A: Ross - sorry, I really can't speak to the question about back-order status. That info would have to come from Really Right Stuff. I do recall that I originally ordered my bracket direct from RRS, but it was out-of-stock at that time. I then found it in-stock at B&H and ordered it and received it pretty promptly. Cheers, & good luck.

Q: 6. Can I use the RRS bracket with a Bogen video head slide mount?

A: Im not a Bogen user. Ive been using RRS for the last 12 years theres nothing better. Worth getting one of there ball heads.

Q: 7. Looking forward on buying this but was wondering two things. 1. Is the side of the L bracket removable making to where it’s only a bottom plate. 2. Am I able to attach a PeakDesign Plate on the bottom?

A: Yes, you can remove the side bracket and you are able to attach a Peak plate on the bottom.

Q: 8. Hi, I am Plannign to buy this, my question is will this work with my Spiderlight Hand strap? will i be able to use arca type head with the spider light strap attached?

A: No, the Spiderlight hand strap doesn't work with this, as the battery door is moved to the outside of the plate. The strap would need to pass through where the plate meets the battery compartment in order to create a seal. Too bad, as I was hoping to use this strap as it's the only one that helps support the small camera with the perfectly positioned thumbrest. One thing is that this RRS plate's pinky rest really fits the camera just right, unlike all the other plates I've tried.

Q: 9. Will this work with the a7iii?

A: Yes. It works fine. I got one for my A7 iii a couple of days ago.

Q: 10. How sturdy holds in place the Hex key?

A: RRS makes great products and this is no exception, the hex key stays put until your ready to use it.
