A: This is normal as you're adding space between the shutter mechanism and the lens, and that added gap and added material would muffle the sound of the shutter opening and closing.

A: No, you cannot. The Opteka 2x Teleconverter for T-Mount is designed for lenses that use the screw-on T-mount lens mount connection, The Sony E 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 OSS Lens uses the Sony E-mount bayonet lens mount on the lens, and would not be directly compatible with the T-mount teleconverter.
