Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Will this lens be made to work with Nikon?
A: No there is no Nikon F mount for this lens
Q: 2. Does it have the auto eye focus ?
A: Yes, Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG ART for Sony E mount does support eye focus.
Q: 3. Does this fit the canon EOS Rebel T6i and T7i camera?
A: The Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Canon EF will fit on the Canon Rebel T6i and T7i. Keep in mind that these cameras have a 1.6x crop factor, therefore the lens will be equivalent to 38mm.
Q: 4. When this lens is used more for general purpose (such as portraits) is the lens barrel mostly retracted?... and only begins to extend as you truly use it as a macro?
A: Correct the barrel of the lens begins to extend substantially only when focusing on something very close.
Q: 5. When using manual focus, Is this lens true manual focus or focus by wire? Also does it have hard stop infinity focus?
A: When using the Sigma 28mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens, manual focus is focus by wire. This 28mm Sigma f1.4 lens does not feature hard stop infinity focus.
Q: 6. Can I use a mattebox with that lens diameter?
A: The front of the Sigma 20mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Canon EF is 3.57" / 90.7 mm in diameter. As long as you have a matte box that can fit over that, it will work.
Q: 7. I have the 24-70ii lens already for my 6D but I would like to add a prime lens to my kit. I am contemplating the sigma 35 art and the 50 art. I like the idea of adding one of these two because I feel like they can provide a more unique style that my 24-70 can't (bokeh and low light). I also already have the canon 50 f1.8 but although its a good lens for the price, it's not my favorite lens. I like the idea of the 50 for portraits of my daughter but I feel like the 35 is generally more my style because of it's versatility but does that make sense if I already have a 24-70 and I want a good portrait lens? I feel like most people would agree to get the 35 since I already have a 50 but I'd be fine replacing that lens and never using it again. Any advice/input is welcomed. Thank you!
A: Go with the 50mm art lens. Replace your canon. You will love the 50mm art lens and I think your 24-70 can pick up the 35mm look that you want. I have told 2 other photogs about this lens and they agree and have sold their canon 50mms.
Q: 8. for 5d Mark 4 set this lense 1.4 85mm art is it perfect
A: Yes this lens will be great with that camera!
Q: 9. Does this fit the canon 7D?
A: Yes! It fits all EF and EF-S mounts.
Q: 10. Is the AF loud? (e.g. can this be used for video work?)
A: This lens would be very good for video and it is relatively quiet.
