This 72mm Tiffen Digital HT ND Filter is a solid neutral density filter providing a 4-stop exposure. This 1.2 optical density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed without overexposing your image. By increasing your aperture or slowing your exposure time, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

The Digital HT coating is a high-transmission multi-coating that surpasses military specifications for hardness and durability. This optical purity combined with high scratch resistance results in an easy-to-clean filter with superb imaging quality. This filter also features low-profile titanium filter rings for increased strength and vignetting reduction.

1.2 ND filter darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required.

Providing a 4-stop exposure reduction, this filter allows you to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

Filter does not affect coloration of the image and is ideal for use with other filters.

Digital HT multi-coating provides increased strength, durability, and optical clarity for greater light transmission and protection against scratches.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the quality of the shot at the wide angle end (24 mm) very clear?

A: The Nikon COOLPIX P1000 Digital Camera has an amazing (35mm equivalent) 24-3000mm zoom lens--the longest available anywhere. The trade-off is that the lens can't be the sharpest ever. But, the 24mm end of the zoom has more clarity than the 3000mm end.

Q: 2. Which has the best noise settings feature for a bridge camera the Nikon Cool Pix 1000 or the Sony RX10M4?

A: The P1000 camera has a 1/23" sensor while the RX10 Mk IV has a 1" sensor, so on paper the RX10 Mk IV has far superior low-light sensitivity. However, this comes with a hit to lens focal length; the P1000 has a 24-3000mm lens and the RX10 Mk IV has a 24-600mm. Depending on your subject matter, each camera's mileage may vary.

Q: 3. Is video stabilized?

A: yes , video is stabilized

Q: 4. Is there an in-line audio monitoring option for the P1000?

A: According to the specs, there is no line out or headphone out.

Q: 5. For video: What is the 4k bitrate and is there a 29minute recording limit?

A: I have not yet seen bitrate info. Yes, there is a 29 minute time limit on video recording, according to preview articles I have read.

Q: 6. Is Nikon planning on a battery grip for this beast?

A: There are no plans for a grip for the P1000. If Nikon does come out with a grip, they will announce it on their website.

Q: 7. Would anyone know what the aperture is at different focal lengths, like 300 and 500?

A: At 4.3mm = f/2.8 539mm = f/8. Our opinion is that f/4 comes about 10mm and f/5.6 about 200mm and f/8 from 300mm to the end.

Q: 8. Can you set up Back Button Focus on the P1000?

A: The Nikon COOLPIX P1000 Digital Camera BH #NICPP1000 cannot be set up for back-button focusing using the AEL-AFL button.

Q: 9. Does touch screen support touch focus/exposure.

A: This camera does not have a touch screen.

Q: 10. Does the lens allow for adding a neutral density or CP filter?

A: Yes, you can add 77mm filters to the lens of this camera.
