The EQ-73 cannot be used as a standalone EQ. It is made to be used together with the Golden Age Project PRE-73 Preamp which has has an insert jack. The control range for the EQ-73 is +/-15 dB for the low and mid frequency bands, and +/-18 dB for the high frequency band. The nominal operating level is -18 dBu.
